Conquer Connection

alright guys, it is my last resort to go to starting a new thread, i have used the search button on this forum, i have searched the Co forums, i have looked in every posted thread and nothing has shown up except for CO partner or Bjx, so ill resort to post here now.

for a while now i have been gettin d/c like every fifteen minutes, while about two months ago i dced for about every two days. im just wondering if there is a setting that you can set to you ini files, internet, or anything else to make you dc less or if not at all.

i have a Linksys WUSB54 - G wireless router, if anyone can find any configurations for this router to make it dc less, i would greatly appreciate it.

I've been D'cing alot more lately too like when I logg 2 of my charcaters on but maybe it's jsut because everyones on vacation. I doubt we can do anything about TQ's shitty servers.

the new servers mean that there is a bigger strain on tqs shitty hosting meaning dcing for us.

I get DC'd like crazy a couple weeks before CO2 came out. Then CO2 was released, and my connection has stabled somewhat, but its still impossible for me to sit in TG for more than 2-3 hours.

Annoying because leveling overnight there isnt a possibility.

wow i just searched somewhere and someone said he fixed his dc problem

he said he upgraded to co2 from the co1 patch 4283 or something like that when he first played co2, and it caused him to lag and dc like 100 times a day.

but then he cleared ALL his conquer files, his whole folder i mean, and the registry, a complete clearup. then he said he installed all the new conquer files as CO2 install client off the website. he said after he was finished, he barely had any lag and he barely dced at all.

i havent tried this yet, because right now because im on vacation but should any of you laggy people have spare time can u please try this to see if it works for you, i still have to wait another week before getting back to my house :\

i dc alot too but is bcuz my video card is shity, so i dont thinck that u cna fix the lag problem... just get a better pc or internet connection

some of my friends dont dc, except when they do the met zone trick, they say they dont use routers but those that do dont even know what routers they are using :\

so by that information i would guess that not using a router will cause less lag,

can anyone test this?

it depends pretty much on your video card but if your router has many ports that are used always it could be that.

but seriously u should change ur sig because GMs do come here to look for stupid people who post their CO account info on here and ban them.

Now, when meteor first came out, the server was lagged. I had a noob on that server and i would dc every 10 mins or so. If it isn't the server, you prob have too much shit running on your computer (AIM, MSN, downloading music or whatever, Yahoo, or any program other than CO2 that uses up your internet). I have a cable connection and I get a decent ping (100-350) when i have 2 windows running and my music on. I dunno about routers but i think a router connection is slower.

anyways, i dont get that much lag, and i havent dced since co2 came out. i durno why. im using comcast broadband, i got a gig of memory and intergrated grafix.

apparantly it has something to do with your network card drivers or it can. and theres some talk about possible issues with asus motherboards and the integrated nic card. i had this prob as well i updated nic card drivers that worked for a lil while then i just switched to a diff nic card now it works fine. hope that helps a lil.

i had this problem when CO2 was released. i downloaded the patch for making CO1 in to CO2. thats when i had all these lag spikes and what i did is that i downloaded the CO2 client(not the patch), uninstalled CO1 and installed CO2 and the auto patch updated it to the fullest. thats when the lag stopped. so heres a summary of what i did to get rid of the lag thingy.

1. uninstalled CO1
2. downloaded CO2 client
3. installed CO2.

*do at ur own risk..i am not responsible for anything that happens to ur comp or whatever...this is what i did..and it worked for me..juss wanted to share this info to u all...so once again..do it at ur own risk*
