Hosting providers

Hello everyone.

It's being a long time since I've done anything related to Rappelz. I might start a server since apparently, It's not that dead after all.

I was thinking which hosting providers do people use? I've checked OVH but It's too confusing, a lot of plans etc.

Thank you :)

There is three english server with 3 player in total, you are right rappelz isn't dead, it already did pass that state. Some multi leng server holding well(at least more than 3 player)

You should rethink this project :D

OVH or Hetzner should be fine.

OVH is good enough but to host a project of unlimited scale, you'll need to work harder organizing and implementing good network architecure. Consider using few virtual servers for traffic routing through a backbone and hosting a main server and a database in a middle of all of it. For a project that is worth paying attention to it, you'll meet a lot of issues hosting a server on a single machine. However it will be expensive otherwise. But the main advantage is it ignores abuses from retail.

There are few more well protected datacenters but its will be even more expensive than a custom made networking concept based on OVH hosted machines.

About hetzner: no, no and no. Players in Rappelz come and leave. Ddosers are always staying.

But i wanna pay your attention to Google Cloud also.

Yes, it reacts on abuses rapidly. But you can avoid being abused til the last server, again, if you organize a project architecture playing with some imagination :P Also, you can buy GCloud accounts on dark market for around $10 each which will give $300 free balance to use within a year. GCloud computing service is highly protected dedicated hosting solution, even though it's a virtualization stuff - it doesnt make a huge difference with dedicated servers by IOPS as well as any other performance criteria.

P.S. you should not expect something not that confusing when it comes to a good project hosting solution today
