Home Test Server Specs

Just wondering if anyone has ever used a separate box at home for putting a local test server on and what specs would be recommended for running one, including the AI server?

I figure it might be worth investing in one soon once I get more intensively into testing. There wouldn't be more than a handful of other people connected to it at any time so it only needs to be something that can handle the AI server competently more than anything else.

Any ideas promeos?

From my experience if you run ai server on less then 4 gb ram it starts lagging on login and sometimes mobs rubberband other then that what i use on my vmware is

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (All should run fine with that in mind atleast it dose for me and my 10 friends)

You can also just open ai server and have no mobs running at all and just use the command to turn a specific mob on or off.

I would also recommend using a Windows Server instead of the normal version of Windows.

PS: Add me to that list of people testing.

That's the thing I'd like to ditch VMware and run a test box with the server on its native OS then connect my PC to it. Less rubberbanding and resource usage on my PC, easier for testing

I'm going to need Hero 3 server files and client as well but I don't know where to get it for free lol. Seeing servers like YOLO 2.0 makes me realise I can't get away with only S2 any more if I want to attract a decent population. I can't seem to catch Yurn on Skype because I never know when I'll be online.

There are so so many bugs on hero 3 i can't even start describing them.

My favourite one is the 999h Scrolls and Buffs you can abuse on any server even Rohan Sea.

And if your looking for a server / hosting company i used [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] for a long time and it went really well fast connection ddos protection and you can keep adding features to your server on the go like more ram more hdd more processors without having to change anything on host they will do it for you.

As for getting away just edit some skills to match some hero 3 ones and PEW PEW done like i did.
If you want i can explain to you via skype or discord or dm.

the only fact that h2 client doesn't have mass stat adding feature is enough reason to ditch it ;D

Or just make a phone app or a website where people have control over it. But to be fair i do hate the reset of status and the god damn hunter kits afk people farming everywhere where's the fun of fighting off those pker's come on.

I would only change the hero 2 for an origin server not hero 3 or hero 4 or even trinity.
