How dead is co?

I realize the private server community has been rather dead for a while now, but on average how many players are you all seeing online on your servers? I'm looking to start up a project but not really sure if it's worth it. I'd rather not have a server with 10 players online lol. I tried looking at some p server websites but it seems it's not so popular to announce your online count anymore (Which seems concerning to me).

Unfortunately the golden days of conquer died a long time ago...
Highly agree, as someone who's played since 2004 and quit quite a couple of times and took year/month breaks I could say that the community started to decline around 2008 after ninjas and 2010 after talismans ruined the fun of lvl 99- fighting lvl 100s+.

The reason CO died was not because it's old. There are plenty of games that are as old, if not older than CO and are still thriving today with a large community. Look at RuneScape, just to name one example.

The problem was greed and how they ineffectively tried to combat bots but failed and when they failed their greed took over so they basically implemented botting into the game for more money.

TQ has always been greedy and that was ultimately their downfall.

As for private servers... Most were greedy scammers too and it has now ruined the community.

They added to many useless features in the game .. conquer online has become a true pay2win
