sorry i dont have see that you search setup on linux :)
but you can do install MSSQL on a windows root
and .exe and so you can open on linux only what you must do is setup cert to connect to mssql

will do it. but the problem is, i do have an unix server right now. so that is why i am looking for linux tutorial.

you can install mssql on your linux server

it can work, with wine but you need much knowledge.

you can also use your current server as vm-host and add there some vms with windows
