Working on a 4.5 100% free server

Hey guys!

I'm currently working on a 100% free 4.5 PvP server just to get fun on an old pvp style.

When i say 100% free it's 100% free. Of curse you could make a small donation to help me to pay the host.

I will be transparent, the host doesn't cost 500€/mounth (I'm french so it's in euros).
It cost to me 35€ per mounth.

BTW

The server will be max level 60 (4.5 so normal)
Instant leveling.
Only 1st map main city available on each faction (Be aware, if you try to leave the city you will be wasted by mobs) , Bootlegery AND level 60 pvp map.
I will remove 15 and 30 altars. Change other altars to Commanders.
All stuff will be available from merchants on each main city.

As i said it will be 100% free. No donations to get stuff or whatever you want.

I don't know what will be the name.

So if you have ideas or suggestions, don't hesitate to leave a comment.

Again, i'm making this server to have some fun on pvping with an old style game.

No need to ask, there will never be any vote system to get dp since there is no shop system.

I can share my opinion with you that a server need some items to farm.. Even a 100% pvp/free server need something to do for create pvp or it will become very boring quickly. I'm trying to follow the concept of "free server" but keeping things to do and donation as free option for support server and receive a small reward for it.

This sounds very weird to me, you can set bounderies for don't allow players to exit the cities easily using the WLDEditor from hronolight.

And i got the idea to make some quests to prevent the "boring" part. Not at first but later with some items to drop on altars that could be used to validate a quest to get custom armor skins.

there was free shaiya before with this concept, it didnt last very long. if you plan on making 100% pvp no donations no farm or anything, then all I can suggest is a rebirth system, Ex: Hits last rank > Rebirth back to 0(Keeps Stats and still earns) > Repeat= now it may sound no good but, this is most likely the path you will be heading :), which probably the best in my opinion if you plan on opening a 100% free PVP Server. ( So all the old maxed rebirther pvpers can just 1 shot each new player :D)

I think that I will add a few drops.

Since all lapises (lv1-6) will be free, i may add Max lapises to altars with a 10% drop rate.
Then as i said, i also would add some quests items to get custom colored gears (only gears). Like black/azur, black/red and black/neon green and/or white/azur, white/red and white/green neon skins.

I don't want to make old players OP. They should be better with Max Lapises. So everyone get a chance.

I currently did update all gears to fit my point view.

No stats on them. Only HP, SP and MP and of curse def and res.

1 item to enchant everything.

I can add that rank stat points are a big problem for any server it seems good for players who become stronger but don't allow new players to join the server afraid of the stats difference.

Friends who play told me that many players check higher rank and in case it's over 20k, they hardly join.

I'm trying many different solutions but I haven't found yet the best one.. maybe decrease the points, expecially for ep4, but this is just my point of view!

Another suggestion about the drops is to focus on something that create pvp, as a boss or a pve area; From my experience any new idea is welcome by players about this and I found Lua very interesting for..

I thnik i will remove vet managers since différences between players will be done via drops. I'm making a server where friends can have fun without the stress to be killed by full stuffed and OP players.

If i'm right, altars and altar's mobs are controled by the LUAs file. So it's possible to make a boss instead of altars with of curse some difficulty. If an alone player can get it down it's not fun.

It's where i want to go.

Relics mobs are managed by Obelisk.ini. Siod Exile is managed by lua script.
