hmmm as far as i can remember, there is a limitation on linux, not sure if its the server files or the client itself, though.

if you know how to open exe files ;)
to install sql odbc and open the modules
best is you using linux in desktop version

I do not know if there is a problem I just tested it with a friend if it works on linux !
and Protection can be bought for every server and you can also use filters

If you're planning to run a production server in a linux system forget about it. MSSQL is almost impossible to run under linux, otherwise the files are like 90% compatiable with linux using WINE. Still a lot of crashes, and tons of errors you never face in windows since unlike many other programs you're usually running with wine, these files are depending on many core features of Windows which wine hasn't impelemented yet.

Get a Windows Server if you're planning to run a Silkroad Server.

Now you might say there is a LINUX version of MSSQL 2017, yes but no, SRO Server files are unable to connect to linux version of mssql.
