I got alot of PMs on how to skill edit so i decided to make this guide because i had to learn how to do it myself with the good info from other guides but this is my breakdown of it.
BIG credits to chiharu, its really knowledge he gave but my own simplified version.
Note: this is manual editing and should work 90% of the time on many servers compared to drag and drop.
Step 1: Open your data.pak file through winhex
Step 2: Download this Skill script: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (credit goes to chiharu)
Step 3: Now to search for a skill to edit it, goto winhex and press Ctrl+F. type Iconindex,_ _ _ (those blanks correspond to the skill you want to edit)
Step 4: goto the skill script and open Skill ID offset.txt
Example: you will see something like this:
//Incar Magician
offset:42D1FAF2
IconIndex,508 //gracious eddy
offset:42D22E14
IconIndex,505 //ice storm
offset:786316C5
IconIndex,546 //cruelty lightning
offset:432790D8
IconIndex,548 //imitid flash
offset:785DE708
Step 5: to edit Gracious eddy, the iconindex number is 508, so add Iconindex,508 into the search in winhex.
Step 6: once Iconindex,508 shows up after you search, scroll down carefully until you see the first NO_CANCEL.

Step 7: next, go back to the skill script, go into the magician folder, right click on gracious eddy.whs and click view file.

Step 8: you will see this, (i highlighted the important part)

ReplaceAll NO_CANCEL,255,153,1200, NO_CANCEL,255,153,0003, BlockOnly Wildcards
ReplaceAll NO_CANCEL,255,154,1000, NO_CANCEL,255,154,0000, BlockOnly Wildcards
ReplaceAll 1,0,507,1,0,14000, 1,0,507,1,0,00000, BlockOnly Wildcards
Green= numbers you will see after NO_CANCEL
Red= What you will change it to
Step 9: Change the numbers accordingly
Step 10: scroll down until you see another NO_CANCEL line and change it again, keep doing this until there is no more NO_CANCEL lines.
Step 11: go back into the gracious eddy.whs file and look at the second part (refer to screen shot)

Step 12: now go into Winhex and find the set of numbers the skill script told you to replace.

Step 13: edit every single 1,0,507,1,0,14000 line.
NOTE: on some skills, the second part of editing might have more than one line. Example: you might have to change 12000,14000,16000,18000,20000, etc etc. in this case, it will look something like this
ReplaceAll 1,0,504,1,0,?????, 1,0,504,1,0,00000
the question marks mean there will be multiple numbers but just make them all 00000.
Step 14: now click save and try out your newly edited skill!
i hope this is more simple for those of you who get confused easily. once you get good, you will be able to experiment with different skills that might be harder to edit.
