Hey everyone, I am running a bootleg copy of windows XP pro edition with SP1 running on it. As you all may know you cant download SP2 without a legit key for WindowsXP (wich I dont have). So my question to you guys is, Is there anyway I can install SP2 without having a legit windows XP cd key?

Thanks alot for your help guys, I really appreciate it. Keep up the good work!

Snag a bittorrent client and go to torrentspy.com or thepiratesbay.com. I'd rather not have my IP attached to distributing microsoft cracks :)

Well I downloaded SP2 and when I start installing it is when it tells me that my cd key is invalid and tells me to goto [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and look if it is valid. So is there any cracked SP2 installation that would bypass this part where you get your cd key checked? And with a keygen, would a generated cd key I put in be legit when trying to install SP2?

Thanks agian for the help guys.

Really ?? I'd be interested in that :)

I have a legit key for xp but only problem is i'm using the corp pro and my legit key is only a standard xp key and when i try and update via windows update for the newest patches ect ect that new stupid genuine tool tells me my key is not a corp key and won't allow me to update.

If ya don't mind letting me know send me a pm or something i'd appreciate it :D

SP1->SP2
I refuse to provide a key or a keygen. One can easily be obtained from sources I've previously mentioned. But, I will give you the steps you can use to upgrade from service pack 1 to service pack 2...

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. In the left pane, locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft&#0 92;WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents
4. In the right pane, right-click OOBETimer, and then click Modify.
5. Change at least one digit of this value to deactivate Windows.
6. Click Start, and then click Run.
7. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK.
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.e xe /a
8. Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows, and then click Next.
9. Click Change Product key.
10. Type the new product key in the New key boxes, and then click Update.

If you are returned to the previous window, click Remind me later, and then restart the computer.
11. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to verify that Windows is activated. You receive the following message:
Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit.
12. Click OK.
13. Install SP2 for Windows XP.

If you cannot restart Windows after you install SP2, press F8 when you restart the computer, select Last Known Good Configuration, and then repeat this procedure.
