[Questionnaire] 9Disciple roadmap

02/01/2010 21:37 saweet#1
While I've been very busy with work and life, I'm hoping to make some time to update 9Disciple. So I've put up some questions to help me plan a roadmap for the next major release. All I need is your input! Copy and paste the following in your reply:

Are the attack options too complicated? Yes | No

Do you use Target Shared, is it useful? Yes | No

Do you use Tele Target, is it useful? Yes | No

Is the Translate feature useful, or is it inaccurate? Yes | No | Inaccurate

Do you miss the old Monster List (where you manually select monsters instead of all monsters being added automatically)? Yes | No

Do you use Move Inventory, is it useful? Yes | No

What class is your main character? Nuker | Hybrid | Warrior | Healer

Do you think the program should be able to update itself? Yes | No

Should the teleport locations, item notify, and quest list synchronize with a master server so everyone has up-to-date files (it would wipe any custom additions at the cost of having the latest files)? Yes | No

Any features 9Disciple is missing that other programs have that you think the majority would find useful (if so, please explain)? Yes | No

Any other thoughts?

As you know, the clan maps is the highest skill exp rate map so they are the best for skill training.
The 9Dis already included the Self target function, I know. But you just gain Skill exp with Buff skill and Lightfoot (perfect for training Lightfoot, 10 cheng in 1 hour), not for attack skill. I saw the MP losing, the delay for skill begins but no Skill exp at all when I use Self target for attacking skill.
My opinion is : The client send to server attack request --> server respond (lost MP, delay begin...), however the Clan Maps is Non-PK map ---> no Skill exp + no lost in HP.
So, If the Client somehow send to server that "This skill the character is using in the PK area with target " maybe the server will respond with increasing Skill exp.
Im not a sniffer at all :) so maybe I am wrong. If so, just forgive me.
9Dis totally perfect for me.

Are the attack options too complicated? No

Do you use Target Shared, is it useful? No, never found it useful

Do you use Tele Target, is it useful? No, I always powerleveled my other characters or switched my class at RL6

Is the Translate feature useful, or is it inaccurate? No, never found it useful

Do you miss the old Monster List (where you manually select monsters instead of all monsters being added automatically)? No

Do you use Move Inventory, is it useful? Yes

What class is your main character? Nuker, Warrior

Do you think the program should be able to update itself? Yes

Should the teleport locations, item notify, and quest list synchronize with a master server so everyone has up-to-date files (it would wipe any custom additions at the cost of having the latest files)? Yes, but maybe include a toggle option for overwriting files before updating.

Any features 9Disciple is missing that other programs have that you think the majority would find useful (if so, please explain)?

Maybe a Dupe hack? I found it pretty tough to get money for buying passes/weapons etc to refine, get elixers and anything else, maybe sp_vn or ITVietnam can help with figuring out how it's done.

An update to the Auto Quest feature, to have it read from a config/xml file similar to your teleport locations and have it as a drop down list. This may free up some room for you to add any other features and prevent any mistakes when adding the quest and steps manually.

When I was trying to train my skills with 9Disciple it wasn't working unless I was in a PvP map, which made it pointless because you could kill yourself while doing it.

The "Users" list would list everyone as a character similar to the letter L, the last time I played.

There was a bug related to training a active skill on a training dummy, where it would lock you in place if you hadn't pushed mouse1 at least once before it automatically finished for you. This could also be used as a way to train skills, because you can get skill xp from training your active on these.

Thanks for your input. Both of these have been fixed and implemented in the latest version: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Both of them work fine now in the latest release.

To add on to suggestions: I think a auto pick up feature would be handy, for when you go AFK to pick up any weapons/clothes etc. so you can use them to refine or sell later.

#2 A option to exclude guards from being targeted and/or attacked.

To add on to bugs (let me know if you want me to posts future bugs here or in the 9Disciple thread): Move inventory seems to cause an exception to occur - [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

#2 Train Target feature: I've tried using this on a Gravestone and Meng Mian but it seemed to attack Guards or Blind Madmen instead of my target.

Also, a question: Is there a way for me to find the addresses of items to add to the item notify list?

Use the Delay option below the Skills list, it toggles the quest speed.

Your hack is more stable, and have nice skin but autoshroom ,autogingseng, autoskill dont works...

maybe you can imvestigate if is possible cancel quest maked by hand cause if you make quest by hand you cant use this for hack lvl, or maybe you can add some option for fix quest...

need be more explicit on each feature like move imventory...

Thanks saweet...

"Do you think the program should be able to update itself? Yes

Everything else, I can't answer, since I haven't tried any of them out- though I suppose that means I could technically answer "Yes" for the very first question, ne? =P I don't really mess around with any of the options outside the speed buff, +5 to all attributes buff, teleporting, and Auto Quest features. It all looks like a bit much to try figuring out how to use, and things have already broken enough with the Auto Quest feature I love so much, to the point where I'm pretty sure I can't finish my Dragon quests on my main character, since I can't give up this glitched quest, delete or throw away the three quest items in my bag from the quest, or continue it. Still, I suppose the good outweighs the bad since I still use it. =P

You can't do any RTD quests after the first 2nd chapter RTD with 9Disciple open iirc, you'll need to do the RTD quests without 9Disciple.
