Any tips on upgrading?

I have a lvl 100 super tro armor,
I spent 100+ mets on it already,
but they all fail......
anyone know any tips that helps upgrading at TC?

Get it down to 0 dura, repair, and upgrade with met tears. Has been tested by me and my friend.
