Custom NPC Names?

01/27/2010 23:18 Nolaner#1
Might be a noob question, but i have seen this in some older sources!

As title says, is it possible to give NPC's custom names? (5165 source)

If so maybe a quick guide on how to? :)

Client side, or you could modify the npc spawn code to give it a custom name loaded from a database... that's slightly more complex though.

@spare
Stop freaking posting your thread.
Noone cares about that thread.
It's very useless and no matter how many times you tell people to read it, they aren't gonna read it.

As much as I hate it, I must agree with Decker.
Everytime someone posts a question your response is that.
You don't help you just refer them to a thread that doesn't help at all.

If he read the thread, and searched beforehand, he wouldn't need to make this thread.

Sometimes people search and they don't get the results they wanted.
I search all the time and end up not finding what I need.

Well it works for this issue, and that's the reason why I posted it. Why do always try to argue with someone? Somethings are better left alone. And that moderator application, you're not going to get it. And don't try to continue this conversation.

I do that. I search and don't find what im looking for and ask again. There is nothing wrong with it until there is like 10 post about the same thing on the same day. I don't think we need to have childish 'guardians' around here, frankly there are way to many of them, you don't need the 'guardian' crap to report a post. And honestly if the mods really cared about people not searching they would sticky your post.

I'm sorry to say, but your no help to the forum whatsoever.
#request guard take-away
Actually he is help, just sometimes he doesn't provide enough help. Most people that post these things are new and don't know about the forum rules and need to be informed, doesn't mean they can't be helped at the same time. Spare needs to realize that people aren't going to find a post 2-3 pages down.

Anyway
#request close, poster got his answer
