help setting virtual machine

09/25/2017 01:57 TehJodyD#1
AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED).

I get that error when i try and start the virtual machine. I looked in bios and i do not see that anywhere inside my bios. Virtualization is supported but idk what the problem is. Can someone help me?

there are other vt settings in the bios you need to enable, usually northbridge / cpu settings tabs list them.

Hyper V can be used, simply add a RemoteFX card to the VM and it will run conquer just fine.

i don't see anything in the CPU like that north bridge. I have looked i don't see anything in it hardly for virtulization.

Hyber v was checked inside the remote FX in the hypver v manger and it still does not work.

jesus fk I need alot of imagination to make sense of the mess you wrote...

Well if you can't find it, check your mainboards handbook? Google it? The error message clearly says you didn't enable it in the bios. Maybe you're not using SecureBoot and that's why SVT (Secure Virtualization) doesn't work. Enable secure boot. Use VirtualBox or something else, like your brain.

What CPU do you even use? Something recent or something ancient? If its old it might not even support virtualization.

i have a ryzen 1700x so have a look in your MB Manual ffs...

Mine is (as someone already said) under CPU Configuration -> SVM

It is located in CPU Configuration for most Mainboards... if not look in the Manual!

I have looked in the manual and come up with nothing.... SVM is enabled in the BIOS and it still does not work.

Yes those are the two i am trying with. The problem seems to be that my CPU #2-#16 is parked. Now i need to figure that out.

When using hypve v manager i get an error called Hyper - V encountered an error while configuring configuring the network on ( what i named the V) because the object was not found .

Problem fixed i ended up having to q flash my bios for new update
