PS3 - CFW to OFW question

Hey everyone,

So... got an old Rebug CFW PS3 from a friend and since I already have a PS Plus account active for quite a while now on my main PS4 console was wondering if I could get it back safely to OFW and try some of the games I got for free there (+ Persona 3... haha).

Here are the steps I went through:

1) Formatted PS3 HDD on PC
2) Installed latest OFW from Safe Mode after booting up the formatted HDD
3) Made a new PSN account to see if the console was banned - logged in with no issues and nothing happened after 3 days of playing an online game (Ace Combat Infinity)

My question is if it would be safe to just log in with my main PSN account on that PS3 console and just regard it as an OFW one from now on?

Format ur HDD on Ps3 and update ur Ps3 to latest OFW 4.81 on Ps3 u overwrite the CFW if u do dat, Fw's are not on ur HDD dats all.

To be honest, I would sell the PS and buy a new one because this console firmware is a rare one unless it has been downgraded with a dongle. The normal price for CFW PS3's are between 140-170€ while a normal console only costs 50-80€.
