[Release] Fix to Maximum Resolution 1024x600

01/23/2010 04:57 sandolkakos#1
Only put file GUI.ini in this folder of your Client:
ini

I made this, cause any of my Players, have Notebook with Monitor 10", with maximum resolution 1024x600.

Who has this problem, the screen of the game is exactly like this:

After applying the file GUI.ini:

If your screen does not have the problems mentioned in this article, careful, do not use this patch, or your game may look like this:

look if you too get this black screen with the "Original" GUI.ini
if Not, then your Client Version dont accept this Correction.

Perhaps you could enlighten us on what you changed, and then this could be ported to other clients. Or you could mention what client this is based off so we can have an original and and figure out the fix ourselves. :)

There is already very long time that i realized this process.
but i will try help.

in GUI.ini, look how these groups work:

[0-130]
x=0 ----> Coord.X of GUI_Texture
y=707 ----> Coord.Y of GUI_Texture
w=1024 -----> i dont know, but can be the Width_Texture
h=61 -----> i dont know, but can be the Heigth_Texture
Title= -----> i dont know

Then, i have passed line by line of these groups, and was Changing the Coord.Y to smaller numbers. The same Example above is ORIGINAL GUI.ini, and this bellow is modified GUI.ini:

[0-130]
x=0
y=539 --> Changed, to UP the GUI Element in Screen (that i dont Know what the element, But you can change and open the Game to look what is in different position)
w=1024
h=61
Title=

Sorry for my bad English.

So, I was just reviewing this section out of interest and I noticed this thread. First, that's quite the bump - two years into the past just to say thanks. Let's try to make this relevant to what's going on with recent activity. So, I'm part of the Conquer Online section and I've noticed quite a few things with moving the GUI around. I've released my findings [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] if that interests you. Basically, TQ added a PM window that allows developers to change the GUI without leaving the client. It automatically modifies GUI.ini and everything. Sorry this wasn't around when you posted - it might have saved you some time - but hopefully this speeds things up if you ever consider doing more modifications (since I see you're still active). Cheers!

Your solution is fantastic, Fang.
Thanks, and I will get a look in it when I need to modify the position of the GUI elements. :)

When opening a .dds file in an image editor (gimp photoshop etc.) it loads in layers or maps (depends on the program) if you mod/edit the layer or map wrong it will cause the same error that GUI.ini would

But there is not any error in GUI.ini.
This solutions was realized just to people that need to play Eudemons in a computer with its maximum resolution smaller than 1024x768. For example, if its maximum resolution is 1024x600.

Do you understand?
