i have a problem with after effect

guys i want to make an lyrics video but when i add a photo to the compositions
the words of the lyrics disappear the photo hide them how can i make the lyrics go above the photo or set the photo as a back ground

the compositing-layers in after effects are working as a hierarchy, this means for example that text-layers have to be over the other layers.
