Looking for some private servers!!

Hi! Lately, I've been trying to find a private server to get back into. Although, the problem is I'm getting picky in making a proper decision and having trouble scoping out things myself on and off over the years of ps. Not trying to come off as a lazy brat that doesn't know how to use google/insert other ps forum sites, but I feel like either there's too many choices of the same thing or I can never find what I'm looking for properly.

So! I decided to put down what I'm looking for in a forum post here to see if anyone has any recommendations for me. o: (which probably isn't a lot for what I'm asking or probably go unanswered, but one can hope/try orz)

Features I'm looking for (they don't have to match exactly but I'd like it as close as possible)

Game specification
I'm a fan of the anime/3d ones but preferably "newer" graphical games (tera, vindictus, icarus online, arch age, revelation online, blade and soul, aura kingdom, iris online, FFXIV, Black desert, soul worker, kritika, dragon nest, EOS, ect...I especially enjoy fps/action like controls) The only ones that I don't want spammed of is fiesta, flyff, ragnarok, or maplestory...but I am willing to accept pangya, latale, and RO2 (and if you didn't get a gist of my weeb tastes so far this means I don't want anything WOW, GW, dofus, neverwinter, allods related OR extremely dated ones such as MU, rappels, linage 2, perfect world, aion, RAN online, ect...though I MIGHT have a slight exception for aion and PW depending on what features the server has)

Rates
I'm personally not a fan of sitting at a computer hours end and grinding because I'm an impatient lazy butt...otherwise I would still be on original servers honestly. However, that doesn't mean I don't like at least some balance or "challenge". The minimalist of exp rate I can go is x10-x50, and the maximum would have to be x200-x1000. I don't really have a specification for other rates tho...

Game Version
I would like the version either LATEST or CLOSEST to the original. in this case, KOR or JP server files would be ideal because of certain content, but if the server is NA/EU based that's fine.

Server Location
I live in NA so obviously NA would be the best location for ping, however, I think anything in EU does fine too. (guess it depends on location)

Community specification
I don't have any pet peeves in this aspect because I usually keep to myself. The only thing I would like is clarity that your private server isn't going to shut down anytime soon because no one's there. But I don't really pay attention to events--that aren't battle related--or get involved with PVP, guilds, and stuff.

Premium Item shops
Well, I'm not gonna completely explain my reasoning of why I'm not into donating or why you shouldn't think I'm a leech that wants free stuff either (which isn't completely wrong but---). However, if there's one thing that does bother me is p2w and the oh-so familiar feeling of being left out not only aesthetically, but also skill wise when it came to certain OP advantages paying peers had. For me, this was the main reason why I've switched to private servers because of a rip-off original servers were that expected me to burn a hole in my wallet just to enjoy myself. For private servers, I'm not trying to induce the infamous debate of "stop expecting something for free because so and so needs money to keep the server alive" type of thing or dissing on anyone's financial gain. But for honesty and personal preference reasons, I also want to make sure I'm enjoying myself as a player, and being able to dress the way I want my avatar to be is beneficial to my interest.

IF the only way to get premium items is donation I'd at least like some way to get these points by other means (as long as they don't take months and months to save up for :/...and don't just tell me to vote for 2-12 pieces every 24 hours as the only way or find myself grinding 5 hours a day in-game just to get around the same amount when a set cost around 300-1000.).

On the other hand, I also would like balance for both paying and free players in that vip benefits either go unused altogether or available to anyone. But depending on the rates and how easy it is to get good gear, I don't think it matters much unless there was an extreme notable difference, and it isn't a huge disadvantage to me that makes it feel impossible to play in higher levels without any sort of buffs or equipment obtained through donation.

Custom content, other features
I'm not against this, but it just depends on what type of CC it is and how much it affects the original overall gameplay. Stuff for the character is fine, but sometimes overhauls of towns can be a bit overwhelming/crowded when there's a vendor for every little thing. :S (although, I think this is only capable in veteran mmo's that I've listed not give me as far as I know?)

Gamez Black Desert is pretty good, but it's still in beta and they're fighting bugs, so there's going to be a wipe. I don't mind the wipe because it's super fun being in that first wave of players on a new server. There's usually tons of little perks and no catching up to do. Beta is also cool because you can get the learning curve out of the way.

Black Desert seems to fit most of your requirements. It's a huge game, with great graphics and tons of stuff to do when you need a break from grinding. The combat interface is really interesting. The skills are totally keyboard driven. As in shift + D, or S + F. I HATED it at first, but within a couple of days it became very intuitive. My fingers just started to remember and I could relax and just enjoy playing. Now, it's hard for me to play other games. Oh... and there is PVP. It's open world after level 50. Not too bad, though, because you can gear up quickly. Best of all, if you like to keep to yourself, it's an excellent solo game, best I've ever played. It's not at all raid, or guild dependent.

I would keep an eye on it. The player base is already big. Gamez Aion server has been around since 2010 and it's still popular, so the DEVs know what they're doing. It's an emulator, though, so you might want to keep that in mind.

***Just wanted to add, that the biggest problem finding a good 3d anime private server is that most of them seem to be Aeria Games releases. Aeria Games screws-up practically every game they touch. I'm actually hoping you get some recommendations. Your post was really good. I'd like to save it and re-post it as my own once a year. lol***

Yes! I've come across Gamez BD and also orgefest BD, but I wasn't sure which one was better because I was seeing drama between them and other people on the forum posts I was reading, so I was kind of iffy idk. Anyway, I realize I need to download the original client in order to use their's, but atm I'm trying to download v491 that orgefest says to download. (because I'm not sure how I can obtain the retail...unless the trial version works just as good?) You'll have to clarify for me because I do want to try it out. o:

ugh, I know!! I can't believe corrupt companies like aeria and nexon are still even enabled to have games at all. But thanks! and I hope I do too. I'm just the type to develope picky tastes I guess lol

I've played both, but I personally feel Gamez BD is better.

Here's a little insight to the drama between servers. 3/4 of Gamez early player base were OF refugees. They left because of the Drama, but I guess that migration came with it's own dramatic consequences, creating hard feelings with the player base on both servers. It's never put in that light, but I believe that was the root of the problem. On Gamez it's also easy to ignore and not allowed in open chat. I'm not sure what OF is doing, probably the same thing.

You don't need a retail BD account to download Gamez. They've made their own download software as part of their launcher.

Aah, thought it was like sketchy or something, but I can deal with player base drama since I keep to myself anyways;; (as long as they don't shut down when I'm beginning to enjoy myself lol)

Hmm, it still says I need to choose the "Black Desert Online folder Location"... I don't know if they meant the original folder, the gamezDB location, or I'd have to make a folder myself. Either way, I ended up putting in their location instead since I don't know if it's possible for me to DL the retail version. Eehh, guess I'll find out if it works or not... I don't think I've ever done an emulator before so sorry for the noobness!

Yeah it kinda confused me, but even though I opted to download their torrent instead it's taking too long so I think I'll hold off for OF. Though in the end, it's whatever's better for dressing my avatar decently and be comfortable with rates since that's all that matters to me?? I'll try Gamez first since they seem to be downloading faster, buuut I'm not sure if some features might be done away with once alpha is finished.

Is OF itself still in beta/alpha?

They allow you to choose your folder because people want to play both the retail version and the emulator. It usually takes a day or two for the private server to match the retail server's updates. So, in that case, you need two full versions. Some folks multi-client, as well. Google how an emulator works. It can be a bit wonky in the beginning, but it's pretty impressive on the DEVs part. It takes confidence and a sense of commitment to even try. People avoid emulators because the game play doesn't feel as solid.

I know that the cash shop coin giveaway is going to stay the same on Gamez. 165 pearls every 1/2 hour -- which, in the long run, is more than enough. That's been promised over and over again to the player base. If they changed that they'd probably be a massive migration back to OF. Folks would be PISSED OFF. Anyway, at first it's a struggle, but at one point I had 150k pearls saved. :)

I'll PM you my ig-name on Gamez and gift you some essentials, storage expansions, pickup-pets and such. Save your pearls for weight, because weight expansions can't be gifted, then go for fashion. Since it's alpha, it's no big sacrifice on my part. I'm sort of anti-social, so don't worry about accepting it. lol

I don't know how Gamez is going to handle their revenue stream. With the sheer amount of work they're putting into it, they have to have a profit motive. You're 100% right, longevity matters. I don't personally know these guys. I'm just betting that if they can keep an Aion server going for over 7 years, (which I've never played) they can do the same for BD.

There's NOT going to be a wipe on OF. So, there's that to consider. However, that doesn't mean that they're further advanced programing/feature wise. Play Gamez long enough to get your bearings, then try OF. It's all good.

Fashion wise... the character creation is pretty cool. You can also pick out a template beforehand. It saves a lot of time and effort. I download them, then customize.

This is a Russian site. It has some of the best looking templates out there. You just have to work a bit to find what you need. That is, if you don't speak Russian. lol

A totally great thing about BD is there's videos on everything. I tend to ask the internet, before I breakdown and ask chat. (I've never played retail.) There's expansive guides and databases on everything imaginable. I'll hear something mentioned in chat and google it, in seconds I have more info than I ever wanted. For solo players, that's unbelievably helpful.

Finally, it's also an international server. The majority of the player base is English speaking, but if you have a problem seeing other languages in general chat, Gamez is not for you. Do OF. I mean Gamez is super international. The player base is a bit older... so are the DEVS. I don't mind it, because I don't pay a lot of attention to chat. If it's not in English it's even easier to ignore. lol.

Well, personally I've never tried an emulator so I can't really judge it myself or what "the game doesn't feel as solid" means...unless it meant for stability reasons? but I'm sure it won't bother me much as long as aesthetics please me. lol

Thanks for clarifying! I did go ahead and request some help/clarification because I'm having an error. As for getting the original version for updating purposes, I should just check it out for myself, but clarification is always nice instead of dealing with mistakes after mistakes. lol

I think I can do with that but I guess it depends on how pricey stuff is. Is there a chance that I could afk--without being disconnected--and collecting them that way? Also, if it's no trouble I don't mind! but I think it'll take me awhile until I get it installed. (my forum username is sanpi btw!)

Yeah, I've seen that too which is kinda nice, but idk I feel like I'm the type that doesn't get very far in progress anyway. Even so, 7 years is quite the extent and comforts me knowing they can keep a server going for that long. But then there's that 1% of players that leave but don't technically hinder a servers progress?? Maybe.

I'm glad the general community provides useful information! I just hope there isn't too much I need to get invested in since I like to be chill and not focus on getting good gear off the bat...I just have to be smart and try not to choose such squishy characters. Is the Dark Knight class available cuz they looked really cool.

True true! I spend most of my time playing jp/kr games, and was surrounded mostly by Portuguese in past mmo's. So I don't really find language to be annoying imo? Just as long as there's no language barrier when it comes to communication that's needed I guess, but yeah I hardly pay attention to chat either so no big deal either way. c:

Might take a look at them if you are looking for a private server.
Or you can also request if they have the resources.

Unfortunately, they temp hold the development of EOS as there wasnt any revenue for the server to pay for itself.

As for Black Desert, well both Private Servers are great it will boil down to the player's preference.
If BlackD.cc (now defunct) wasn't so private about their server, it would have compete the official NA/EU Servers since they are using Official Retail Files.
