How safe is buying gold?

I hear about people getting banned for a day and having the gold removed from their account. Is this common or rare? How do they found out and how do you know if a seller is trustworthy?

just dont buy gold, and do not buy from a massseller, means, someone who sell daily to 10 people +

if u rly want to buy "gold" then find a private person and just purchase items, like ectos, preq. etc

i did purchased about 2k gold in items already, and always the seller wrote a text that i won it from a quiz or something like that, nd nothing happend..

and on that time i had about 2k AP, so it was a nearly new acc ^^

Buying gold directly gets you banned about 99 percent of the time, just don't do it. Gold movement/ transactions ingame are tracked very thoroughly by arenanet.

it depends... sometimes you are just lucky

It is pretty safe if you don't go for the fastest cheapest solution, usually.

I always buy Gem Cards 2000Gems = 15-17€ = 380 - 400gold and its safe.

I know buying gold for around 100g/3€ is much more (like 550-680g) and therefore cheaper, but also unsafe if you have high end account :P

i bought many 3 times 1k gold each time never had problem
