as you may have noticed there have been multible claims against me as a person or my product for storing userdata, destroying ships etc.
Firstly I would like to start with the point that it is indeed true, that Boxybot had stored Account information, aswell as user Settings and user Statistics such as runtime, reconnects, received gold, received pearls and so on. This all was connected to a certain feature that I was planning to add. A Cloud feature.
But there were some major issues with this, so I decided to wait with this and release it later on and not with the initial "payment release" of boxybot (Which was on the 28th of May this year). Some of these issues where license system related, as you also may know there have been certain issues with License-Keys being changed etc. which also moved the Cloud-Feature release back, because we then planned to make a Forum and use this as a license base, to get rid of the License-Key-System.
Secondly since I removed the Cloud-Feature or rather planned to release it a few month later, after all the Licensing Issues have been fixed, the user-data logging stopped as it was simply not needed for atleast a Month. The database with the user info still existed, but was encrypted so there was no way, that it could have ever been leaked and do any serious damage. I then removed the database completely on the 4th of June this year. But as you know, did the database got stored on somebody else’s web host on which I had no influence.
As third and last point I would like to address everybody whose accounts took serious damage from this failure of mine. As I myself lost my Account, I can relate to your emotions. Some people that are in the Support-Discord do already know that I will compensate everybody for their lost, but sadly I can not give you back your gems, pearls or any other in-game Item, but I can and will, if you want it, extend your license for multiple month, depending on the damage you took, for free.
The Bot is safe as always and does not store any user data since the 28th of May this year and I will keep working on it as it is my hobby. I will keep on updating the bot when BP updates the game and will keep on providing new features.But all in all it is your decision if you want to use the bot or not and I can not control you or tell which bot to use.
So I hope you can forgive me for not deleting the database instantly and not deactivating the cloud storage even though it was not released yet. But if you can not or do not want to forgive me atleast forgive my team as they do not deserve any kind of hate especially not because its not their fault that I did not deactivate a non-published feature and also is it not their fault that a database got leaked.
And for my team, levlevliva, Sinlyu, I’am sorry for the negative influence my failure had or has on your reputation.
