Hello epvp,
Just before I get started, I will say. This is totally my opinion and more of a rant.
New Players
I always see people complain about how Darkorbit is too hard for new players to become stronger. Mainlythese are people who have accounts in different servers, and are starting new. It's true, that starting a new account or a new game is not easy. It's not just Darkorbit, any game is like this, except games which are entirely PvP orientated, and game items do not cause any advantages (Brawlhalla / CSGO for example).
However, Darkorbit is not like those^ games. It has a Pvp aspect, but does not revolve around it. Manyplayers treat this game as a RPG, just grind to get to a high rank and level. But, can we all just realize how much Bigpoint have made this game easier for new and/or noob players?

Auction System
Do you recall when you wanted to bid for an iris, you would spend about 100 mil credits. Then at the last minute, be outbid. What a bummer! Yeah, do you also remember, you didn't get those credits back!? This was back when, 99% of the users couldn't solo a cube, and to get credits. You were either doing BK's in x-7 or other NPC's including Invasion gates.
Now, bid however much you want, how little you want. If your outbid, you get all that stuff right back. No risk, just reward. So, you cannot say that its too hard to get stronger equipment.

Diamond Formation + Aegis
Remember when I said, you used to have to kill BK's in x-7? Of course you remember, if you played back then its all you did. Or run UDO bot (<-- lol 3k/h max maybe haha) Yeah, back then you physically had to circle the bk's for about 3-4 minutes to kill one. If you were an average semi FE player with x1 ammo.
Let's jump forward to now: You can easily bid on an Aegis, depending on the server you play. It can be a free win in the auction, or if you play a more populated server, you can buy it for real cheap in store. Now, an Aegis is easy enough to just sit there, spam your reps and kill npc's. Now let's add in the lovely diamond formation. Forget circling NPC's, that was too skillful, let's just sit there, and sit there... yup. Now you can stay in 1 spot, not die to the npc and move on.
Another way, new players can get stronger with ease. Compared to the old way, where sometimes you would have to spend an hour circling and paying attention to get like 3 mil credits (excluding skylab). Now you can do the same thing, with the least of efforts.

Double Rewards + GG Benefits
This one you can argue helps more for rank than equipment, but it goes to say that either or, it helps new players progress both physically and statistically (rank/ep).
Flashback to like 2009: The first gate you will ever open is going to be an alpha gate, most likely. You spend about 1 hour to do your first gate. All for 100.000 honor, and like 2m ep I think. Again, all legitmate circling, sending npc's to corners. Not many people bought rebate during these older days, but let's say you did. You were spending 70 uri per gate spin, which is what you also spend today. Nothing changed right?
Back to 2017: Wait, what? It's 55 uri/spin today? Wow, cool. You manage to open some more gates. You buy that 50% ep or honor booster for 1 day. You open that A gate, with the same strength ship as in 2009, you do the gate in like 30 minutes max. Why? Add Diamond/Moth/Pet Kamikaze(not even gonna talk about this shit....bruh) and Aegis of course. You do that same A gate, and get 200k honor and 2 mil ep + your boosters... literally doing the same thing in less time gets you almost triple the reward.
You don't care about your rank? Alright, lets talk equipment. You do your first zeta gate. When it first came out, you did like 15-30 to get all your havocs. On average of course. Now, you can do like less than 10, to get them all. Why? Double rewards baby! Literally saving you millions of uridium! Same goes for herc's. And same goes for those glorious BOOTY KEYS. You can get like flippin(team 10 lol) 50! from 1 zeta now! Includes Epsilon/Kappa LF4 rewards too.
I will agree to this, it is hard to be a new player, and get anywhere close to a high rank. Until, Darkorbit releases the rank reset system. In this case, there is 0 excuse for new players to complain about not being able to ever be general or something.

Skylab
This feature may seem old to you, but. It was indeed introduced way after darkorbit was released initially. I'm not going into detail on this one, I'm sure you can figure out how this helped.

I'm not really sure of my purpose to post this tbh. I was just getting fed up with idiots complaining about how this game is too hard for noobs. It's not true.
Look at it from the DEV side. So much has been implemented to help noobier players. All the stuff mentioned above, excluding Kamikaze is going to help already FE/UFE players. It all helps the newer players.
There is no game, which allows for noob players to be as strong as the top players in a game without similar hours. You cannot have a total of 400 hours, and be complaining about how you only have 13 LF4 and 9 drones, and it's too hard for you to get UFE when legit UFE players have 2k+ hours (avg). You will have to grind to get anywhere, this is true for all Games which are not Pure PVP based.
All this is rendered useless if you use DOB for 3 months btw. Kind of a long read, but if you made it to the end. I want your opinions as well, is Bigpoint doing a sufficient job of trying to help newer/noob players out? I want to point out, that it's true. It is still difficult for noobs to be strong in a game like Darkorbit, and Bigpoint can still implement many more features to help them, but my point is, they are trying.

Snow
