[FAQ] Botting (for newbies)

As many people is new in botting at DO I’ve decided to create this simple FAQ. I hope that helps some newbies.

What is botting?
Botting is use external programs in order to obtain a faster progress on the game. The bots play your account while you don’t play DarkOrbit and it collect bonus boxes, kill aliens and so on.

Which kind of bots do we have?

• Macro: Just as simple as a program that records your mouse clicks and movements. This is used mainly for bonus box botting as you can let the pet collecting bonus boxes.
  
• Pixel bot: The same as macro but it also scans your screen searching images. If the bot sees a bonus box it will click on its screen coordinates. They also repair your ship, kill aliens (not all) and more things. There are two kinds of pixelbots, foreground and background. Foreground uses your mouse and background no.
  
• Packet bots: This is the most powerful kind of bots. They communicate directly to the game client so the number of issues you have with them are really low. Apart from that their performance is really good and they use less resources than the previous ones as they have to host the game space map and this ones no. They have to be updated after each DarkOrbit update.

Are the bots detectable?
There is always a risk of being banned by using a bot as it is against the game rules. However as you can see on the different bot threads there are almost 0 bans.
About macros they are a bit more “unsafe” as they don’t have random timmings and they click always on the same spots. Well coded pixelbots are fully randomized, which decreases the chances of being banned. About packet bots as they are the most powerful ones BP tries their best to detect them. However, if the developers of those bots does not commit any mistake while updating the bot they are just undetectable. If a packet bot emulates at 100% the game client then you will not get caught. An example is DOB. DOB was officially released 6 months ago (this post is from June 2017) and it has 0 bans.

If I get caught using bots, what will happen with my account?
It will get a permanent ban. But you will only be banned on that account, so you don’t have to worry about the other accounts on your PC/IP.

Which bot is the best?
That question is impossible to answer, as the best bot is the one which fits better with your needs. My recommendation is always “try them all and pick the one you like more”. If you are going to go just for bonus boxes then a macro/pixelbot should be enough. If you want to go for aliens (which has no cooldown), gates and more then you should use a packet bot.

What is the “cooldown” you mention before?
When you are collecting bonus boxes there is a cooldown. To understand it I will put an example.
1st hour you collect 10k uridium. 2nd hour you collect 8k uridium. 3rd hour you collect 7k uridium. 4,5,6th hours you collect 5k. That means that the more time you collect bonus boxes, the less uridium you get. If you stay collecting them for long you will end up collecting <1k uridium/h.
Currently this cooldown is only applied to bonus boxes. So if you bot aliens you will get the same uridium per hour.

How can I optimize my bot earnings?
You can set pilot points on bonus box collection or/and in alien hunt. You can also buy salvage protocols in order to get more profit from the bonus boxes.

I write the truth. Otherwise demostrate me it has any. And by demostrating means proof it. Take into account that all bots have 1-2 players saying "i got banned", when they really didnt got banned.
Even palavia has people saying that got banned when we all know it is not true

and to answer to your question, in real life you need to try for your own all things to prove for yourself, not for someone else, not to listen gossip and so on.

I am just saying that 1-2 persons saying that they got banned does not proof anything as we have this in each bot thread. Many people loves to tell lies ;) Anyways i will not discuss more. If you don't like the thread or you think i lie then just report the thread and a mod will decide. I think i have been enough clear and enough impartial on the first post. Otherwise i'd have expressed my opinion about what bot i think is the safest or which bot is the best one, but i didn't do that as this is a FAQ where my opinion does not matter, only the facts matter. And that DOB, nanobot, palavia, click! bot and so on have 0 bans is a fact even if some people say the opposite. I wonder why never a reputable forum member get banned, always people with low number of posts....

FAQ == Frequently asked questions, that means "Frequently asked questions about botting". Most threads about botting are the points i put here. How to bot? Just press run at any bot, read each bot faqs, etc lol.

As skeith said. This will avoid questions and threads in this section. So that's why he made a FAQ.

There's no actual evidence that anything has lowered the longer you collect bonus boxes, it's speculated.

One thing is for sure if this does exist then Galaxy Gate spins aren't affected.
