Most stable fully functional source 2017?

I've been out of the game for years, recently started playing conquer private servers again lately.

Just wondering what's the most stable partially/fully functional source that people base their servers on in modern times?

5065+?

This isn't a request as I know that's against the rules, curious to hear opinions as travelling through the guides and releases is a time capsule. So hard to get a grasp on what's modern and what's of substance.

It's hard to say. The community lost a lot of developers since then, and there hasn't been much public improvement towards a completed source. Good improvement projects are still immature and require time, have been abandoned as base sources, or are privately developed. I can't really say that there is a stable or "most functional" source. Redux is a bit messy and requires work to reduce some lag issues, but it's relatively straight forward and targets 5065. If you were to ask for help regarding Redux with some good headway and info about your advancements, I'm sure the community would be willing to provide support. In addition, there are some good base references such as ConquerServer v2 and v3. For future reference, this isn't a rule violation - this is a discussion more than just a blind request for completed code.

Edit: Your feedback about that releases guide is definitely relevant. I'll look into revising that once projects become more promising here. It could be helpful to categorize it by functionality and stability rather than by patch, and start filtering out what's no longer relevant.
