Why are servers suddenly allowed closed/open beta phases

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure the rules in the past were that if your server wasn't open before 1 week of submitting your thread, it'd be closed and the information would be removed

The advertisement section is now plagued with servers that don't open for another 3-4 weeks, sometimes even a month, and by time the month passes, they're hardly even open. It heavily decreases activity and every time I personally open a thread and see that I'd have to wait two weeks for the closed/open beta phase to finish, I'm no longer interested and don't visit that thread again.

If you're a professional developer as much as you claim you are in your introductory thread title, then why do you need such a large amount of time to work on closed/open beta? Half of the threads claim they have a "professional team", so why not get that team to test it, then only post it here when the grand opening is within a week?

It seems to be dying a lot more now seeing as the community has divided between servers. I cannot find one server in the advertisement list that has a decent capacity and overall server without being hit in the dick with "we're in closed beta ATM. Grand open 2027"

It has been like that for years (Hint: before even Electus,elamidas) , We're allowing it basically because that's what the community wants.. judging by their posts.
Theoretically, they wanna check what's up there and here if it seems a new experience to them (players), for us (Mods) we can easily close the said advertising thread or enforce a rule about it if it had a bad impacted on our section activity, but it's the opposite and let's be honest.
If they are (server owner) delaying their grand opening for a long period as you mentioned above then it's their lose as they made someone lose his interest about the said server. It's just a situation you can't make everyone satisfied, if we changed it someone will complain as we're not giving server owners the opportunity to test their servers.

Just a part of discord's discussion today:

Chit-chat: Server owners can release it without beta phase if they're professional
Chit-chat: now imagine it without beta , I've seen too much complains towards server owners
''why no beta phase'' ''your server sux'' ''you should have tested it already'' and what they will answer them if we forbid it ? ''Mods said we're not allowed to create our project in beta phase''
which leaves take the blame.

Chit-chat: for example check other advertising sections, it's not that hard !! if you don't like the server simply leave it and don't visit the thread again , you have the option to choose
Chit-chat: You don't really have options because 99,5% of servers are utter shit
and everyone knows it
Chit-chat: so you want us to kill 99,5% of the section !

Going beta for 2 weeks ain't a bad idea. Seems like someone is mad cus arabs you worked with are dumb and another server of their work is dead ^ . ^

I don't work with servers. I advertise them and support them, but I don't work with them.

Personally, I don't find anything more "dead" than having to wait 2-3 weeks for a server to go through a beta phase for extra thread views just to eventually fail.

You're advertising their work -> you kinda work with them cause you help with it. Take a look at your last advertisements, don't want to bring examples but ye Exanic. I would prefer playing 2-4 weeks beta to play a decent server not a shit like the server that couldn't even stay 5 hours online. Personally I don't have anything against you but you ain't right.

but still, waiting more than 1 week for a beta phase to end is just retarded.

Seems like you have a massive hard-on for Exanic. Sorry if it took a while to answer regarding this case, as you may know we asked for suggestions on discord if we should forbid beta phases or exceed the time frame period from 3 days to 5 days. We (PortalDark, Nectix and me ) had a discussion on various of the sro rules and we will keep you guys updated [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].

Regarding beta phase situation, we see it's not really necessary to forbid it since mostly that's what the community wants, we don't want to limit the owner's neither the user's options picking his desired project.
I agree, some may bypass our 3 days rule with a month instead testing his server but look on the other side, he's the one who will take the blame if his player-base started losing interests about his project and basically he can't create a new thread under certain circumstances. so the player still have the upper hand to pick the server that meets his own requirements.
