So the time has come, to stock the fires and set a blaze in this community, the goal i want to reach, will be to start a discussion about the topics below. So if you got time, then find your earbuds, put on some music, start reading and give me your best shot.
Disclaimer:
All this is writing from my point of view, if you do not agree, then that is your opinion and yours to keep.
Visiting this sub-forum are from time to time, is like finding a bag of dogshit burning at your front-door. You step on it, trying to kill the flames, but hey surprise, you just got shit everywhere and it stinks.
I've not been that much active for a period of time. But in that short amount of time I've been absent, files has been stolen, sold and shared. And it seems like toxic behavior and shady methods has been spreading to every corner of this community.
So I'm tired of seeing script kiddies and inexperienced members trying to make some fast bucks on others expense.
Story time:
Timmy is a new member, he finds a server that looks like it would suite him to play on. He reads through the first posts with "reviews" and comments about this server. Even though there are some comments pointing to negativity, he still joins the server.
He sees a "jumpstart" boost on the server for a few bucks. He decides to buy it and play with it.
On the other end of the screen we find the operator(s), lets call him bob. Bob now thinks he has found an easy way to make fast money. So when Timmy write to him about an issue, Bob just play it off as something that will be fixed asap.
3 Weeks goes by and Bob doesn't care about anything any longer, because he has earned a few hundred bucks on this. He refuses to pay for the server expenses and let the server die. Bob tries to explain himself to the players and the community.
Next Monday he starts up a new server with some other files that he "got" from a friend. In the end, he just screwed over Timmy and Timmy can't do anything about it. Poor Timmy...
So how is Bob able to potentially screw over Timmy twice and do it fast?
Well the second time around he got files shared by a "friend". But the "friend" could have "stolen" the files or got them from a leaked source.
But Bau why did you write this story? Well this story is to tell you guys that if you're a Bob and basically are not interested in putting a few hundred hours into something that you like and you want to present to the community, then leave it alone. If you want some experience out of it, then say NO to stolen and leaked files.
And if you are the friend of Bob, you should gtfo before you get terminated. Your kind are the once that lowers the quality of this forum.
In the end to all of you Timmys out there. I feel sorry for you and you should remember to do some deeper research before you throw money into the picture.
Your's truly
- Bau
