Your going to need a few files to start this. (Scan if you want i was too lazy to go to virustotal, but i use these daily)

The GFXFileManager.dll is in there too because usually without it, it cannot initialize the pk2.
Next, it is a good idea to get photoshop if you don't already have it, this way you can open the dds files and come up with your own designs. (EX: Underbar,HP/MP Bars)

Now that you have all the tools. Open your Pk2 Extractor, and select a pk2 to want to open up and edit. (Remeber where ever the extractor program is, is where your pk2 files will be extracted to).
In this case, go ahead and open up youe Media.pk2, ALWAYS REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACKUP!
If you did this correctly it will look like this:

For this tutorial I will teach you how to change a weapons + Glows.
Click the [+] Next to Resinfo, and extract itemtypenumber.txt. (Or the whole folder if you would prefer but depending on your computer this might take some time)
Now it should look like this if extraction was successful:

Go to where it was extracted: Media\resinfo.
Open the itemtypenumber.txt, you will see this:
Look at +9 and you will see this:
Those are the color ranges, the pattern is RGB. Which is Red Green and Blue if you didn't know:

0.388,0.502,0.890 0.094,0.580,0.380
If your familiar with photoshop the colors won't be too ahrd for you to figure out, and how to change them.
Lets say you wanted a solid green to a solid blue glow, you would make it:
You can also create new glows for different pluses by addign a newline for all the instances.
Example:
That will make +6 look like +9, you can change the color to fit your preference.
Another thing to look at is the speed of the glow:
With that you can slow down, or speed up the glow texture.
You can also change the textures:
option_texture20.ddj
option_texture14.ddj
option_texture15.ddj
option_texture13.ddj
