Your going to need a few files to start this. (Scan if you want i was too lazy to go to virustotal, but i use these daily)

Drew Bentons Pk2 Tools & DDJ DDS Converter by Jan Chlpik:

The GFXFileManager.dll is in there too because usually without it, it cannot initialize the pk2.

Next, it is a good idea to get photoshop if you don't already have it, this way you can open the dds files and come up with your own designs. (EX: Underbar,HP/MP Bars)

Here is the plugin to open dds files in photoshop!
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Now that you have all the tools. Open your Pk2 Extractor, and select a pk2 to want to open up and edit. (Remeber where ever the extractor program is, is where your pk2 files will be extracted to).

In this case, go ahead and open up youe Media.pk2, ALWAYS REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACKUP!

If you did this correctly it will look like this:

For this tutorial I will teach you how to change a weapons + Glows.

Click the [+] Next to Resinfo, and extract itemtypenumber.txt. (Or the whole folder if you would prefer but depending on your computer this might take some time)

Now it should look like this if extraction was successful:

Go to where it was extracted: Media\resinfo.

Open the itemtypenumber.txt, you will see this:
Code:

4 3	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture13.ddj	4	7	1.000,1.000,1.000	0.988,1.000,0.690	1000	1
4 5	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture13.ddj	5	7	0.996,0.173,0.510	0.902,0.122,0.761	1000	1
4 7	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture14.ddj	5	7	0.992,0.996,0.510	0.831,0.231,0.000	1000	1
4 9	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture20.ddj	5	7	0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380	1000	1
Look at +9 and you will see this:
Code:
0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380
Those are the color ranges, the pattern is RGB. Which is Red Green and Blue if you didn't know:

Red Green Blue Red Green Blue
0.388,0.502,0.890 0.094,0.580,0.380

If your familiar with photoshop the colors won't be too ahrd for you to figure out, and how to change them.

Lets say you wanted a solid green to a solid blue glow, you would make it:
Code:
0.000,1.000,0.000	0.000,0.000,1.000
You can also create new glows for different pluses by addign a newline for all the instances.
Example:
Code:
1 9	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture20.ddj	5	7	0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380	1000	1
2 9	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture20.ddj	5	7	0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380	1000	1
3 9	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture20.ddj	5	7	0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380	1000	1
4 6	0.000000,0.005000	prim\mtrl\itemoption\option_texture20.ddj	5	7	0.388,0.502,0.890	0.094,0.580,0.380	1000	1
That will make +6 look like +9, you can change the color to fit your preference.

Another thing to look at is the speed of the glow:
Code:
0.000000,0.005000
With that you can slow down, or speed up the glow texture.

You can also change the textures:
option_texture20.ddj
option_texture14.ddj
option_texture15.ddj
option_texture13.ddj

Here is what the textures are and what glow they are usually used for:

Thats how you create/change a + glow =].
If you need any help, leave a reply. I might make more tutorials when I have more free time and if the community would appreciate it.

have fun! :D

Does anyone know how I can add the +8 +9 +10 sparkle effect to a weapon? If I change the glow of a +5 bow to look like +9 the glow is working but the sparkle effect is missing.
11/20/2011 01:48 FoxRayz#6
How to edit the new glows on the weapon? i mean to delete the sparkling effect?

Maybe you could explain what each column means, also how to change/add/remove sparkles (the ones that come after +8) ?
Thank you.

the process is relatively simple but i have a problem, the RBG colours

red is written as 255-0-0 , which means 1-0-0 (i assume )
then what about different numbers ? like 134-22-100 ? how can i change it into the 1-0-0 format like red ?

Use [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] where percentage in the lower left corner is color code.

In this case it would be 0.000,0.730,1.000
