Silkroad Root server

Hi Leute :)

Ich würde mir gerne einen eigenen Silkroad Privat Server online stellen.

Aber ich habe keine Ahnung was ich für einen Root Server benötige es gibt ja soviel wie ich gesehen habe 3 verschieden ( vServer, Root Server und Dedicated Server ).

Könnte mir jemand sagen was vollkommen ausreichend ist und was ich an Leistung brauchen von dem Root Server sprich RAM, CPU etc.

Depends on the plans you have .

But usually you need a dedicated server with 8-16GB ram, running on a i5-i7 or something similar .

Depends on how many players you will have.
In Electus, SQL only were using over 30 GB of RAM with over than 3k players online.

I want only 1k player on my server not more ... thanks I think max 16gb ram with i5 or i7 is usefull for me :)

For 1k players you definitely need 32/64 GB of RAM and a solid i7/Xeon, preferably 6/8 cores. Not to mention an SSD is mandatory, or else you'll experience serious lag.

CPU => Four cores @ 3.0GHZ at least. (Should have Hyperthreading....)
RAM => 32GB (go for 48gb if possible tho)
Allocate 75% to MSSQL right off the bat. You want it to cache as much as possible!
Disk/HDD => PCI SSD!
Yes. Use proper new technology so you got enough headroom to make mistakes, cause YOU will.
100Mbit network. 2TB monthly volume is alright for 1k players.

About vServers, KVMs or other virtualized srvs. FUCK THAT!

You want a dedicated root server at all costs.
Hetzner.de, Link11.de, Contabo.de, OVH.com, Nforce.com.
Companies I've worked with for pSRO srvs... Worst -> Best.
