Should I get coaching?

I'm Silver IV right now and seriously considering getting coached for next season. My goal for the end of the season is Gold III.

What are your experiences on coaching? Is it overkill for me?

What role(s) do you main? I think coaching can really help you improve. However, it's a bit overkill for you to hire a master/challenger person. I actually am thinking about coaching bronze/silver people. Could give you some tips for free if you main the same roles as I do.

I main mid. I use Veigar and Lux primarily. I used to do Kat as well, but her re-work is confusing.

Sometimes I go bot when I have to, with MF/Cait/Ashe.

I was thinking of hiring someone on lol-coaching. Probably Diamond and up.

I main adc / mid, so I could definitely help you out. Am a low diamond player myself. you can send me a private message and we can chat a bit. I won't ask for money :).

Oh~, and about star citizen. AAA game takes 5-7 years on average to complete. star citizen offers more than most tripple A games, so i think the development does fine. The first 10% of a game is harder than the last 90%. its looks very impressive until now;p

To be honest, you're Silver IV and reaching Gold III should'nt be that hell of a deal. There are plenty of free advices on the internet especially on reddit, mobafire, lolking etc. You should try to read these and maybe thats already enough. IMO coaching only gets worth when your plat + because you wont make the usual mistakes and a master/challenger could help you identifying those.

Good luck on your future games :3

Best Thing to start off is watching streams tbh.
There are some really good Players that are explaining a ton while Streaming. Just look out for them. ;-)

why gold 3? why not 5,4,2,1 or even plat5? xd

stop playing for the elo, instead of play to get better, to improve yourself, and you are going to!

So the problems with most silver players are the following:
  1. bad/no map awareness
  2. bad farming skills
  3. dying to much
  4. bad positioning after the laning phase

Simply try to improve on these points by somehow forcing you to glance at the minimap every few seconds and starting a custom game alone and just farm minions.

Dying too much is because you are not aware what your champions / teammates are capable of. You can improve on this aspect by seeing how good streamers are positioning themselves and how they act after the laning phase.

+greeding for kills
+undervaluing objectives

You really do not need to hire a coach for climbing up to Platinum/Low Diamond. They key to climbing is playing and watching better players play.
