now.to.get.to.the.point
I.was.playing.on.my.comp.as.usual,no.disturbance,n o.lag,and.just.done.virus.scan.so.no.viruses
but.suddenly.my.computer.crashed.on.me...at.first. I.thought.it.was.a.normal.crash.that.happens.now.a nd.then.butwhen.i.went.to.turn.on.the.computer.it. did.nothing

it.frozes.at.the.first.stage.where.it.checks.ur.sy stem.for.ur.drives.graphic.cards.ram,etc.
when.it.gets.to.hard.drives.it.says

"harddrive.so.and.soS.M.A.R.T..blah.blah...and.it. says.that.both.of.the.HD's.are."Capable.but.Disabled"

I.can't.do.anything
can't.go.to.dos,can't.run.with.windows.CD,switchin g.drives.doesn't.work.either


I've.no.idea.what's.wrong.so.could.anyone.plz.help .me.before.i.go.and.buy.myself.new.HD's-_____-;

Try reboot with windows CD.

If you can get in maybe you have restore point? Kind of hard to read your writting but dont worry about using dots its fine. ;)

hummm, have you checked in the bios to confirm it is enabled?

Yah good idea, if the other HD's work then you know its that, if not then I am not sure lol.

THe problem with HD? Bios is stored in computer not HD. You should be able to access ure BIOS, if not try taking battery out, for 5 mins then back in again

HD is stored in your computer :p do you mean bios is part of mother board?

S.M.A.R.T stands for Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology. It's used to detect errors on your plates (90% of the HD's in the world have four, so if you have a 40GB HD, each disk has 10GB and so on). You don't need it to run so don't worry about that. It could be a small short in your mobo, either that or a tempurature problem that got nasty and damaged your GPU/mobo/HD(a lot of HD's these days run extremely hot)?or even CPU. If you have a friend that has a POST card (very unlikely because those run up to the thousands), run that and you'll be able to pin-point your problem. Good luck!

get your handbook of your motherboard and search vor restore / reset cmos / bios and follow the instructions

/edit if you use an usb keyboard try to use one with a "ps2" "slot"

If it isn't the hard drive I'm guessing it is something with the mother bored. Does like lock up at the windows loading screen, or when it is powering up and that the checking keybored/mouse and what-not screen?

POST card is a program that can tell you exactly what problems there is on your comp, and also how to fix them I think, but since you cant load up windows I doubt you can use it.
