Creating Chars(5165)

01/02/2010 09:41 Arcо#1
Alright well I've run into a problem that I cannot seem to solve.
People are creating chars and when they do it says "Error, try again."
And then they relog and it takes them back to the char creation screen.
Yet I look into OldCODB/Users/Chars and their character has been created.
When I create a char, it works perfectly.
Anybody know whats wrong?

Well if I'm able to create a char then I don't see why its not working for others.

zack is there an limit of password like on some others reg pages i have found u need to put no more or less chars than 6 or 8 or even 20?

I think everybody has had issues with the regpage lol. I can create maybe two or three accounts using the regpage and that is the limit for me but my cousin can create as many as they like >.< My brother however can not even create ONE account using the regpage lmao. I think what it needs more than anything is a regpage with NO limit to the password because I personally think that is where the problem is.

Has an 8 char limit. but it's doing the work as should be.

The problem is in your reg page it isn't inserting data properly into the db like it should none of them do that i have seen released that say they work right when they all have some flaw. The reg pages people are making doesn't have the error handling in it to tell people too many characters or anything so it tries to insert them but not completly or at all.

So for example a idiot tries to register on your page and the limit is 6 characters and they put in 10 it will say registered successfully but will cut off 4 of the passwords characters or not even insert the right data at all in some cases so they get the try again error because there putting in the 10 character info instead of the 6 or 8 that the page allows.

The only reg page i know that works 100% is using the webserver + regpage built for the 5165 src in the first place and when it is setup correctly there is no user/pass limitations.

When i use the reg page and webserver that is designed for the 5165 source people can make user/passes 14 characters and login all day without any issues.

See and I used that regpage and the webserver for about a month and its been working perfectly. Now for some reason people cannot create chars.
