Previewing Effects

-first off, we're going to be using the taoist spell 'heal' to preview these, so you need to backup the files for the spell. find out which level of heal you have an and then get the file name from the list below:

so if you have fixed heal, you would go here - Conquer 1.0/c3/Effect/zf2-e127
to back it up just make a new folder in that one and put all of the files in there.

-find the effect you want to preview (lets start with phoenix just to make it easy)
if you dont have the phoenix effect, download my attachment

-copy all of the files of that effect into the file for your level of heal (the one you backed up previously)

now it gets tricky, log into the game and cast heal, but wait! it gives an error message!

(I used fixed heal for this, so if you used a different level of heal your message would have a different address listed.)

So what does this mean? it means it couldnt find the file c3/effect/zf2-e127/3.dds

so look back in the folder for your spell... it's missing 3.dds! that is because phoenix only uses 2 dds files (1.dds and 2.dds) while heal uses 4 (1-4 respectively)

how do we fix this then? easy: we make 3.dds and 4.dds

-copy 2.dds two times and rename the copies "3.dds" and 4.dds", if done correctly you can now log in again and cast heal and you will see the effect for the super phoenix gem!

this can also be done for any other super gem effect, armor effects, and cool poses (both super armor and full super)... and since it is heal, you can cast it on anyone (even stakes in the tg :P)

note: this wont show up on anyone elses computer when you cast the spell, unless of course they edited their files as well. but if anyone else casts the same level of heal you will see the effect

we used the super phoenix gem attack but you can use just about anything else you want (including graphics for other spells) as long as you have the correct fles for that spell (including the c3's) and you have dds files named 1, 2, 3 and 4

just for fun, heres a pic of me on my alt account casting fixed heal on a stake ;)

omg, heres one... i changed healing rain into phoenix (the people who joined me are random people i found in tc ;))

yea lol... u can do crazy things with it...


wear 120 robe, with lvl 120 trojan... and weird clubs with rainbow-colored-cyclone for example... :rolleyes:

So many awesome things have been unlocked with this, when I first started conquer I did things like this but I never really took enough time to look into it with detail, this is awesome stuff, although only client side, still awesome lol.

just think about this:

we make our own graphic-files... and release it for epvp-members only...

so everyone got the same files and see the same things :D

i havent tested it yet, but i think its dragonhate... if not try reddragon (although thats a... red dragon :P)

Nah badboy, spamming is posting more than 2 times really..

so maybe epvp should start the epvp effects poll so we could choose whats nice and whats not a put it all into 1 file so we could have all same effects for epvp only
