[HELP] adding new gears in ep6.3+

I tried adding new gears on an ep6.3 but after I added the dds/3dc set it all up the mlx files specially the boots.mlx turns all into a hand ? Same thing with others they turn into a different files ex:tops/boots after adding new gears anyone knows what's the issue ? Skype : SadistSenpai

I don't understand your issue and I'm afraid that there is some possible confusion.

Files such as "boots.mlx" do NOT exist; I have created these files to help (from my point of view) the edition of the model list files (whose extension is .MLT).
Since I never documented the .MLX format I assume you are using them through shStudio.
When you edit and save a .MLX file, the four .MLT files (one for upper gear, one for lower gear, one for gantlet and one for boots) are generated. So without being sure it's your point, adding a set in a .MLX file will indeed generate a ????_foot.mlt, but definitively not a boots.mlx (and creating and empty boots.mlx won't generate anything since the mlx files generate their content (if they are empty) after analysis of the filename to determine the sex & class of the list.

Yeah sometimes it's weird when I open humf.mlx and save all four , after
Exit and checked the mlx files again for example on humf boots.mlx everything turned into. Gaunts and for pants.mlx turned into boots but I got it fixed now I just deleted the whole thing and redo it since I don't know the real reason on why it did that

again, "boots.mlx" does not exist ... as far as I understand your point; you are reporting that before edition each MLT files contains the expected content but after saving a MLX file, the content of the MLT files are swapped such as the ??_foot.mlt file contains a list describing appearence of gantlets (so the expected content of ??_hand.mlt), and so on.

I do not obtain such corruption of MLT files with current version - you didn't indicate which version of shStudio you are using, so I didn't check all releases - but possibly the bug was present in an old version; if you have a chance to manage it thank to try with another version.

Thank also to note - since you was dealing with glow/transparency in another post - that when MLX files are saved the alpha indicator is lost and always settled to 1 (Glow mode) in the generated MLT files.
This is fixed in the incoming release 0.7.6 (the format of MLX file is changed to include/save that alpha indicator).

A foolproof way to add new gear is to type the file names manually into the .mlt files, then import the 3dc/dds files as well as the .mlt into your client.

For example, to add new Human Male Fighter Upper Armor, you would need to open the humf_upper.MLT (notice humf = Human Male Fighter) with a text editor (or shStudio) and add a new line (or Edit -> Create Item in shStudio), then type in the 3dc and dds file names.

From another topic I noticed you are not too familiar with client editing, so stick to shStudio only.
