[Help] VPS Connection

07/29/2016 02:04 Pain™#1
Hi guys,

I started this thread with the possibility of getting a nice response to my problem, because is the FIRST TIME I'm doing this:

I just ended writting a basic NosTale server, nothing too complicated (encryption, login server, world server and sql). Then I decided to upload it to a VPS and test a remote connection instead of a localhost. I set up a MariaDB SQL too there.

However, I got a problem. The connection to the database (set up on the VPS) was fine and I could execute SQL statements sucessfully, but the connection from the nostale client (.exe extension) to the VPS host didn't seem to work.

My client worked fine on localhost, but then I replaced the 127.0.0.1 (0x09 length offset) with 33.333.333.33 (example of VPS IP) and added its corresponding offset length (0x0D). THE CLIENT IS EDITTED CORRECTLY, but IT FREEZES on the Login screen.

Is this a problem with my VPS?

Some information you may need to know:
- I have also oppened the following ports on the VPS: 3306 (MySQL), 4001 (DE Client), 4005 (ES client), and the world server ports.
- I prefer to use old nostale client which doesn't use SHA512 encryption (for simplycity).

Thanks in advance guys :)

The IP is fine :(

I tested the server on localhost and everything worked correctly.
Then I started it on the VPS with the same ports and IP: 127.0.0.1 (vps is the host), and the login didn't worked...

Of course you need to edit ip on vps

Thanks guys, such a stupid thing.

For anyone that maybe is in my position: Login IP is not 127.0.0.1 on VPS, is the VPS IP...
