Warning about new PBDO-Bot

06/28/2016 12:36 »jD«#1
Hey guys,

Long time no see. Just thought I'd make a post about the "new PBDO-Bot" that I've had a few people ask me about the last few days.

I'll start off with saying:

The bot currently listed under pbdo-bot.net is not endorsed, developed or affiliated with the official (and original) PBDO-Bot or the v5dev team. We do not support the use of the bot and would advise caution before trusting your accounts to any bot.

With that out of the way. Whilst the new PBDO-Bot is not endorsed by us (and I can't speak for its legitimacy), it does not necessarily mean that it will be a dodgy bot. I'm not too impressed with them basically stealing the name and trying to surf on the popularity wave PBDO-Bot had, normally groups who do that have some nefarious motives, but we will see when the bot is released.

I just thought I'd post this warning before anyone gets the wrong idea.

Hello Josh,

nice to see you are still reading, however it disappoints me that you made 'ur GitHub contributions regarding DarkOrbit unavailable.

I guess coding should be fun, give you the feeling of "WIN" once sth works and even be relaxing in some situation.

It seems that you traded 'ur free time and skills for money. I hope you'll find your work/life balance. :)

Nevertheless, you as well as other v5/PBDO officials allready stated at least once ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) that the domain is not beeing owned by the former Team.
I'm wondering why you came up with sth like that in these times... (;))

When you do, should we expect a new bot/tool from you in the future?

@[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] Thanks for the warning ! =)

All users (uncluded me) hope that the v5devs will make a new version of PBDO-Bot. Maybe you
can start to code the bot and when the other devs has the time, all of you finshed and release
the bot. Please do it, would be a gift for my birthday. :)

I don't mean to sound a cock, but I don't see why you are annoyed that they used the name when PBDO sold everyone licenses then one day just ... disappeared with no reply explaining why. There was still licenses being sold by resellers after pbdo bot went down.

We explained why, we paid lot of money back.
And user which buy licence after bot was down, are self fault.
There were news about it and that we will stop.

You have to understand that we spent quite a lot of time attempting to get the bot working after the update was released. I spent 7 hours every night for over a week trying to sort out a way to get the bot back online quickly without a stack of manual work for us. When we decided to call it quits, it wasn't to screw over our loyal customers, it was because we had had enough and the amount of time we'd have to invest to get it online was no longer worth it (at least for me, I speak for myself here).

Regardless of how we handled it, someone was always going to be disadvantaged when we discontinued the bot. Whether it was back then or tomorrow, there was always going to be some people who had just purchased a license and was unable to use it. I believe, and Dozer iterated on this above, that we were quite fair in the refunds we provided to customers who had bought in the last few weeks leading up to the bot going down.

Whilst I'm not going to directly blame resellers, or customers, I think you have to expect some due diligence from buyers to not invest in a bot that is currently offline. A quick check of the bots website and you would have seen that it was offline, and that a lot of our status updates hinted at a longer than usual update time. That should have been enough of a warning to not buy a license until the bot came back online.

Maybe. I have a few side projects I'm currently working on, but they should run themselves once I get them online. I might resurrect my pixel bot project, or revisit PBDO-Bot sometime in the future. At the end of the day I still believe DarkOrbit is on its way out, and for me to invest so much time into something that may only be around for 6-12 more months isn't really worth it. I know there are a few loyal people around waiting for things, but a few isn't enough!

If Pbdo is fully dead. Make it open source so people can learn
06/29/2016 12:40 Dr.Toni#15
Useless because you won't understand it.

If you really want to learn search for tutorials and/or books and create a new one.
