Hello everyone.

I have thought EP4 start my own server, but I doubt whether or not worth considering my SPECIFICATIONS both PC and the Internet.

It is clear that I am college student and the main reason is not business but learn about multiplayer games, and so have more experience in the field.

I have programming skills, sql, and web pages, so I the development of the entire server is easier.

PC Specifications:
I7 4790
Ram 16Gb 2400MHz
1TB

Internet: Descent: 10MB (1.3MB) - Rise 2MB (0.26MB)

My questions are: First, is it worth developing it for a startup? How many users reach maximum with little lag?

Thank you!

Sorry for my english, i don't speak it.

Gracias!

Technically, the specs are sufficient.
However, you shouldn't host a Server from your Home PC, due to a few reasons:
- your home network is too slow
- your PC has to be on 24/7
- renting a server is in general cheaper and more efficient (considering you "lose" a PC to dedicate it to host a server, energy cost etc.)

Even if you just want to learn, getting the cheapest possible windows vps should suffice.
Windows Server is slightly different than the Home Windows Version, so you might want to learn using it as well.

+ you can be attacked by little scriptkids with Dos (DDos) Attacks.. ISPs doesnt like that so much and they can kick you from your Service
