How to make russian name in rSRO

I will show you how to make and see cyrillic characters.

First,download AppLocale from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].Install it and follow the next few steps.My pics are on WIN 7.Who has other version of WIN is all most the same don't worry.

1) Go START>Microsoft AllLocale>Click on AppLocale - a PC-like icon.

2) Click "Next" and then you will get to the application selection menu.Click "Browse" and go to your Silkroad folder and select silkroad.exe .Then click "Next".

3) You will get to the language selecting "phase".Here,under "Language of the application" browse down at the bottom.A little higher you will see "pусский". Select it and press "Next".

4) Now select the box at left to the "Create a shortcut to always run this application with AppLocale.".Then at "Link description" put a name to your shortcut and press "Finish".Go back to AppLocale in start and right click on the silkroad shortcut (under AppLocale(.exe) ) and select "Send to Desktop"

Now to setup your keyboard to write with cyrillic characters.

1) Go to START>Control Panel>"Change keyboards or other imput methods" under "Clock,Language and Region" category.

2) Select "Keyboards and Languages" tab and click on "Change keyboards..."

3) In the new window in the "General" tab click on "Add" on the right.

4) Browse down to "Russian">"Keyboard">and select "Russian".Then press OK,Apply,Apply and so on.

Now you should see the language selection menu in the right part of the start bar.

Now creating your character name:Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and at "Translate from:" select english or your native language.At "Translate into:" select "Russian".

Now insert the words you want to translate into russian.For example i wanted "Black Dragon" and in russian it was "Черный дракон" so "ЧерныйДракон" was the final name.

After you got the name you wanted translated into english start Silkroad with the new shortcut.Imput your account and password (Keyboard must be set on English).Click on create a character.

At the name insert phase switch your keyboard to Russian and using Alt+Tab switch between your internet browser and Silkroad and try to replicate the name from the browser into the game.

It will take a while until you figure which symbol is where but in max 10 min you will finish.After inserting the name just click create and you're good to go.

Made this thread because i've seen many users the are complaining they that they can't create a character name.This guide makes you see the cyrillic characters.There are people (including me xD) that are annoyed when they see weird symbols in their chat.

how do i login when im using cyrillic keyboard coz i have to log out of my user to make it english keyboard again

there is a button in the right corner down near the time and date the writes "EN" for english.when ever you want to switch to RU/EN just press it and select EN/RUS.

you can also add a combination to switch between EN and RUS keyboard layouts.to do so right click on EN or RUS what ever you have and select "Settings".you should see something with combination.on WIN 7 is "Advanced Key Settings" tab and there a box with actions.there is a action called "Between imput languages".if it does not have a combination create it urself(select it and press 'Change key sequence" and set it up.

while ingame use that combination to change between EN/RU keyboard layouts.

or press alt + shift to change from keyboards.. (at russian keyboard)and press atl gr to change from english to chryllic and vice versa

I have a problem....
i cant create this shortcut. Always when i click " finish" i get an error message.
It worked when i did it with the "sro_client". but then i realised that i hae to do it with "silkroad" but now it doesnt work anymore...

can you mention what it writes "in" the error message?

its in german
it says that applocale could not run the application
and that i should see if the application is still valid

hmm never got that error.are you sure you have selected "silkroad.exe" and not the silkroad icon? try doing this to a random program and see if it works

aww got it workin :D
tried it with another program and it worked. then tried it again with the silkroad.exe but gave the shortcut no name and it worked...
