Using CO2 client

Umm..I was trying to play CO1 on CO2 client. I was told I needed to copy the play.exe, version.dat, and Server.dat from the CO1 folder into the CO2 folder. BUt when I tried to log in, it said "Wrong version number." Version number I have is 4276 which is the current CO1 version. Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I been searching for a while now, just thought id reply to this thread so you know your not being ignored, I couldnt find out why the program isnt running on your computer, all I can think to do is take out and replace the files again from scratch.

*edit* I am using the edited ini that allows me to open more than 2 CO2 windows. Do you think that's affecting it? With my 2 CO1 windows open, I can't open any CO2 windows without it.

Ohhh yeah that could be it I guess, did you make a back up of the original stress.ini?

Yeah of course but I can't try it out until I can take some chars off... x_x

open every single readable file and search for the version number. i believe theyve hidden it in a couple places
