I have decided to try to figure out how the booty box mechanism works.
To do so, I will be taking note on an excel of every booty box I pick up.
I won't be taking note of booty boxes collecting during Helix day (since they could mess up the statistics).
Since I started taking my annotations, I have opened a total of 582 booty boxes.
Here is the statistical frequency of each result:

Old Results:
Important things I realized so far:
>The system rolls the reward as soon as you finish collecting. If you get ammo/extras then this means the reward was not worth 1500 uri yet. As a consequence, the system will roll again but only for extras/ammo (up to 4 times until you receive atleast 1500 uri worth of items).
>Statistically, booty boxes are worth it. If you are aiming to get LF-4, you should be boxing only during helix day. Since the oportunity-cost given the current statistics is 209kuri/LF-4 for Kappa and 416k/LF-4 for booty boxes. During Helix day, your opportunity-cost is 139kuri/LF-4 (better than Kappa!)
> It appears that the system is organized by categories, just like the equipment. Generators and shields have a total 2,5% (probably 2%) chance. Drone related stuff: 5%. Extras (cloacking): ~0,5%. Weponds: 1,5% (0,5% LF-4 1% LF-3). Modules: 1%. Designs: Should be around 0,1~0,05%. Ammo & Trash: ~90%.
I will try to keep this thread updated with the results. Since I am aiming for the Havoc designs and I do need drone parts, I will be collecting booty boxes instead of Kappa.
