Truly Bypassing Play.Exe startup (Good for 2.0)

First make a folder name it patches put patches 2001-2006 there and extract them there delete all files ~*Except the Folders and Autopatch.dat, Server.dat, Version.dat.*~

And get the oldest 2.0 client
ftp://69.59.149.193:21/Conquer20.exe

First you install the old 2.0 then copy the folders and files from the patch folder into your installed old 2.0 client folder and your set now you can just click Conquer.exe and get in.

^-^ It took me ages to find this out now you dont have to listen to the mumbo jumbo about C++ stuff and such. *Was messing around for 3 hours T_T*

to bypass play.exe all you have to do is make a shorcut to your conquer.exe and add "blacknull" to the end of it
in properties
change the target to:
X:&#092;conquer&#092;Conquer.exe blacknull

jupp.. the check for that parameter is even in my screenshots on my tutorial lolz.. i am just too lazy to make a shortcut so i actually patch it :)

actually... there is nothing that CO checks (apps running) at the beggining it just do charge the data, so you odnt actually need to bypass it :&#092;, until they do something.

Edit: ok ok i retreat, you can actually take advantage of some bugs in the exe :)

What C++ stuff, there isnt any C involved in doing what you did. Not only that but this forum is made so that we can learn about what each of us does to make something. So yes, we do have to hear the "Mumbo Jumbo". And yes, even now as I stress my brain to put a link to C++ nothing is coming.

Also, Are you asking for karma in a indirect way?

i think i refeers to that topic once jmerlin posted, it involved some work with debugger :p

any way to add the blacknull command line switch to the conquer multi tool? i still want to find metdoves :(

blacknull? What if you put tqdigital? Used that to bypass it in another TQ game.
