A New DO Clone (Programmers Needed)

I have a lot of hard work this days extracting the darkorbit graphics and founding the old graphics too, after that i was thinking in contact to good programmers for start to make a new darkorbit clone. The game will be like the UberOrbit server but with new graphics and more features. I have all the graphics that it need, now i have to found the programmers to make the game real! I need to help from you, the users of elitepvpers to know all the necessary things to make a game of that features... So i hope you get interesed. PD: I know i have a bad english :l

You forgot to mention your budget, I doubt anyone who's capable of creating a decent game will do it for free.

Just to be curious, I've never code a game, What language do you use for it?

First of all.. "hard work extracting the graphics"? You can code a little tool to do that proccess for you in more or less 10 mins. Take a look to my [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].

Then, I always thought could be cool to work with the people of this subforum on something. But the experience tells me that won't work, a lot of people tried this before... (even less with a guy with only 2 posts here).

Anyways, during this xmas I started working on something with another member of epvp (is still very uncompleted). If you think you can contribute with something feel free to add me on skype, otherwise good luck with your project ^^

I was hoping the people take this like a good idea, but, i understand, i have to answer and edit some things for make this thread more clear.

1. Well i think the propuse of this game was make better things for the people, i dont understand why it have to be paid, just do a better game for the DO fans. With a good clone, the better pay, should be the game... I dont know if you understand me...

2.The idea is the people feels confortable making the game, it sould be a game for enjoy, and for that, the game will be desarrolled in a good ambience, the languaje its an important factor making a game, maybe english, because its the more talked in the community.

3.Was a hard work found the graphics, until, i found the DO Down Ultimate xD, but the real hard work was in found the old graphics... Well about the 2 post, your right, but that dont have to be a impediment to propose a new idea... I hope your project get done...

First of all, thanks for explaining it a bit more.

Of course, when I work on something like this is because I like programming and DarkOrbit, not for the money. I think it shouldn't be paid, at least during the development, maybe if the team wants to sell the code later or whatever (like happens with bots) is ok.

You need to feel comfortable but motivated as well. During the time I've been in this community a lot of people asked me to work on something together or even help them with programming, but everyone gave up in more or less 2 days :/
So if you really want to do something or get into this 'world' add me on Skype (s7kyuuki) and maybe we can make a group with the people interested. (This goes for you Dopenator, idk if your last post was for me too).

Btw, if you need anything about Darkorbit, i've a whole folder of things about it ^^

But out of my languaje i want this game become real because, i dont know, dark orbit its a really good game, and if this clone its better (Like all the other clones) the community will be so happy, and i like the clones than i like the game so... Well, i was thinking and i preffer make some friends in ElitePvPers, to later talk him about the DO Clone idea (UberSpace √2), for now i will not close que request, i have a plan and that will be fast, very very fast... I already think in the features, it are very much, but i will try to make the development easier and faster! :)

Is this going to be another gamemaker project or didn't you decide on the programming language that's going to be used yet ?

Not really, the game will be online and multiplayer. the languaje will be english, and it will not be an exactly DO copy, the script will be more simple, and the game will be better!

There are hundreds of failures behind you, and some had good programming skills.
The truth is hard to hear, buy you will not be able to create this game without programmings skill. No coders will accept to work with you for free if you havn't something to give (e.g experience, sexe ...)
