A hack never discussed before (COBR-SS)

Have anyone ever thought on making custom names with nice chars that the client refuses to accept?.. What about that one (guess what: no one can PM this guy).

No, this is not a client-side hack. It uses the client to force the server receive the username and, as it does not double-check the char name, so it is accepted. It does not accept duplicate nicks or existent nicks ending with space. I wonder how many glitches still has the cabal server. Are them serious while programming?

More screenshots for your amusement. These proves a hack is really in place.
The set shows it is cabal reloaded.

The only edited image was made so the other char names are hidden. One of the chars has a special char in it (underscore), the part with the underscore is not blurred.

Its simple,he just modified his client to accept anything written in the rename card, just like the server-side GM hack, then he used ALT+Num keys to create "invisible" spaces.

too bad he missed the part I did not use any rename card. Thought I already told I made the server accept the name upon char creation? I never had the opportunity to fiddle with such premium items.. in official servers it means lotsa alzes or real money, and the last alternative is out of comission.

So you made it accept em upon char creation, same thing there. Not new anyway,on EU ppl used it to create chars looking as lvl 170 and with [GM] be4 their name.

I have this test pending (to prefix [gm] to the nick) -- although I don't remember how GMs have their char name mounted... I have a SS with a GM somewhere... i shall look for it l8r. Also, this will lead to instant account ban and I am too lazy to keep creating random emails to register new accounts just for the sake of it... :)

...I don't wanna lose the account I used in these tests although I locked the highest level char o'mine (in that account) trying the infamous jewelry dupe trick. I made it so the char stood maybe with two items in hand, it is not valid server-side and I get a DC. As I still can't figure out the DC flag, I am unable to 'fix' my char by myself, and I am not going to try to ask any GM to help me this time! lol
