You can open the map's dmap file in a hex editor and find the portals section. Change the coordinates to something huge so it just doesn't appear on the map.

I wonder also if it is possible to load a new effect on the map or object using this hex editor

It depends on how sophisticated your editor is. Changing values vs. removing and adding new values can be a bit tricky. If I had the time, I'd say "hold on a second, let me just finish Architect (a tool I'm making) this afternoon and you can had a full map editor", but I'm pretty hard pressed on academic deadlines this week. I know Ultimation released his map editor, though I'm not sure of its reliability. You could give it a try, else do the manual work in editing a map (which isn't much for small edits).

To be fair I'm not sure if the tool release was incomplete or simply focused on a newer version of co (although I'm not aware of changes to map data structures) but it seemed to crash every time I tried to load a map with it.

Likely my own fault but just saying it may not have been a magic bullet in its released state.

Oh, wow. I had no idea it was that buggy. If that's the case, then I'll put Architect as higher priority than my server project and aim to have something done for next month, like a small beta. It seems like it's worth my effort now. I just know it'll attract the wrong type of attention from others, like it did before. Hopefully he's over that.

it wasnt buggy there was just no documentation on how to use it. You must have been doing something wrong because it has never failed to load a map for me :/

here is the map you requested without the portal, extract it to your client folder map/map directory, You will need to compress it to a 7z archive if your using a client above 5095.

Very likely yah.

I just know any time I tried to load a map file it just sat there 'loading' indefinitely eating up cpu. Let it run for like 15 min and never loaded so I never bothered doing anything further with it as I had no real use for it.

Ultimation thank you ... but I want to learn to do these editions on such maps for future projects ... I wonder if there is some tool for this.
