"People, I'm here to give you an idea. What idea? Well, I presume we all want NFS World back online. So why not unite and put all ideas together so we could find a way? Come on, let's show EA Games what kind of a community they've lost by shutting World down!"

Nfsw offline team knows how to make it happen, it's hard, need a lot of work and we don't have time to do it.

That's why I feel like everyone should contribute somehow, if we truly want it to happen. Besides, one always has enough time for things he wants and likes doing.

It's useless, cause I would never play (pay) for an EA-game, like NFS. EA sucks in a lot of ways. But there are too much silly players who doesn't know it or won't.

I think EA must really bring some nice game to make all the mistakes forgotten they have produced in the last 5 years.
Sry for the language - but I better be direct - sayin my opinion. :)

For me, contribution is money. We did a huge job and got zero donations.

This forum is full of kids without skills to really help us.

Most of them can't follow readme instructions to play nfsw offline.

Some day we will finish it. Dunno when.

You're living in a world where even a simple application which commonly does nothing useful sells for around .99$. I'm working on the offline server mostly because it's fun for me. The goal was never to make a legit working offline server, it was to share a Proof-of-Concept server to prove it could be done, establish a team with somewhat acceptable income and completely work on making a working online p2p server.

After the release of Alpha1, it had became clear that not only people weren't able to understand a README but also not really interested in funding the project. After a while, I have dropped out of the online project and since started working on the offline server in my free-time, and that is even when presuming I'd be interested during said time. Nilzao shouldered the project and has been working on it ever since, he has done a pretty good job so far; modifying the game to establish a connection with a local-UDP Server and such. ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) Don't let this get you hyped though.

Following the last two epidemics, those being Vitaleks' and Keule's stolen servers, the interest has been lower than ever. For me, I still gradually work on the offline server -the version B1.9 or probably an RC1.0- but not as much as I had been doing before. With a little hesitation, I think the issue is the same for Nilzao too.

To conclude, nothing much has been going on and that's primarily because of low interest.

You told us that you were not accepting donations, although I think you should because you deserve them.

I agree overall that interest for the server overall can be seen as low, but as I'm sure you know there's people like me actively checking this forum and patiently waiting for future releases.

You guys are all we have, there isn't anybody else doing this and all the hours of effort you put in will never be forgotten. Keep doing what you do, we all appreciate it

EDIT: its also worth noting that as the server develops, more people are coming in. I wouldn't say that a p2p online server is completely out of the question. And yes, the majority of people on this forum aren't very capable, including myself, but we do what we can.

I do not accept donations because the offline server project wasn't the main goal. There used to be a button on the old launchers, where if you clicked it, it would give an error. Only 1 person has reported the issue so far... should give you a hint of the situation during that time. After me leaving the online, I have publicly declared that I wouldn't accept donations. Simply because it was my own little project from that point on and I never request payment on my own projects.

I didn't report that but I did click it. I'm not familiar with bitcoin. PayPal would be the perfect option for donations imo.

I understand that this is your project, but you could have so easily never released this to the public and had it only available to your friends. The fact that you put this out there when it otherwise probably would not exist is amazing and I applaud you for that.

Your project, yes. But enjoyed by everybody. There were over 10,000 signatures on a change.org petition to stop EA from shutting down NFSW. People still want this and you're the only guy out there whose giving us the oppurtunity to have it.

Do it for a laugh, do it not expecting a single donation. But have it readily available for people to easily do it if they wanted to. Maybe it will give some perspective on just how much some of us appreciate this.

Anyway, I'll stop now. I apologise if that annoyed you.

EDIT: Maybe you could use donations to save up and buy a dedicated server for a couple of months to show people what it would be like and then leave it up to the community to keep the game online if they find it viable (I have no idea how much work that would involve, just a suggestion).
