People, catface asked - where is my.ini file when you run Wundows 7 ..... clear question isnt it??

I as well check this - runned on vista mysql etc ... and yes no my.ini inside windows folder and anywhere on whole PC :)

Since its really weird (didnt get into this so much but its odd already when its nowhere :)) - maybe someone has any idea ;)

Regards

You have to run winmyslqadmin first then shut it down and check again

I did a search on this issue, and most of my findings said to check the main directory where your mysql is installed.

As I use Xp I can't guarantee that this info is correct.

There is no problem in just making a my.ini and puting it into your windows folder.

The thing you have to remember with vista and windows 7 is the security.

The OS will not usually allow programs to edit/create files within the boot drives base directory (c:\) and also within the OS installed folder (c:\windows).

I never had this problem as I disabled UAC and set ADMIN to owner of windows folder, but running as admin should be fine.

i also have same problem but fixed by run as administator..
