Fun on SRO is at the end-game, to progress on SRO you have to grind, to grind you need lots of time. Grinding alone is mostly boring and party-grinding is a bit more interesting but only works during the first weeks of a server.

What I want to do someday is to make the fun part of SRO the way to progress in the game.

Would it be able to set a limit on grinding and add for ex. on lvl 80+ to use the events above to get higher and grinding would be useless?

I think that could change some things, to a server where activity is important and not just botting..

Now this is some interesting idea.

At every game you will have to reach the endlevel at some point. What if you have max exp points that you can get @ one day, and more alternatives for plvling than just grinding like maybe more quests or even crafting some items that you get from other activities ingame.

It was actually done on a cap85 server can't remeber the name now.Cap85 Eu&CHN where exp was 1x and the only way tot lvl up was custom made dungeons(which were epic) and quests.You could get lv80 by grinding yea it was possible but after 80 you simply stopped gaining exp and could only lvl up by a special set of quests.Also items were epicly created.Necklaces were set with weapons as a set to gain a special effect or passive.

OT:Cool feature I always liked was Cabals dungeon system.The way you had to do those little quests inisde B1F or B2F or the station dungeon was epic.All was split on parts and each ending had its own little boss which dropped an items at the end from a jewel box.

Okay, so what do you guys think of the grinding concept in general! Let's be real, farming is pretty boring but also unavoidable mobs must have some purpose don't you think?

Make them use for an event, like a global event for everyone to join.

ex: Eliminate the required mobs in 10minutes:
- 200 Mangyangs
- 100 Death Karra
and so on.

If they succeed a reward for everyone could be added. Something like that would be cool

Well it's possible but you know you can't rotate the gameplay around events, not totally but partially so this is very very limited. This should be a main concept of an mmo but if we leave it aside like this, idk!

And at the same time you can't rely the whole thing on just grinding/questing it's really boring.

Questing is good just to limit the time you spend botting tho.

You can't prevent anyone from botting these days. You gotta work with it and come up with ideas on making them NOT bot to achieve X or Y.

That's why events are a way on getting the server alive or make them not be afk to achieve certain things.

The other idea would be to not allow Bots but as we know those servers will not success cause the amount of players using bot is high and that won't change :/

Silkroad was never made for botting :) It still came and helped us achieve our goals such as getting Level XX or get certain items while you are at work or sleeping, but yea. Bots are ruining the ''community'' especially if the server owners can't prevent from their server to die one day even that I think most of us appreciate playing with bots including me.

It's a tricky situation, do you wanna achieve a nice active server or achieve the server YOU want such as forbidden bots but live with the consequences of having a low amount of players.

At the end MOBS are at MMO a big part of grinding, getting or achieving. How to make the ''useless'' mobs again useful is another thing which is a thing to think about carefully as your request/questions was already.

Imma think about it somemore, enjoying this thread and seeing some cool ideas&comments :)

How about this, since you will have to kill some mobs regardless of how you get around the situation, I limit the mobs you are allowed to kill /day /hour or whatever. Then having a low or a mid drop rate for the mobs and once you reach the limit you are no longer allowed to the griding area! Just a passing thought haha ^^

Another thing would be editing the mob stats in a way that botting would be impossible at least the afk botters won't last for minutes there, some mob skills/stats could be added to prevent it you know.
