ok, I have done some very (noob) experimenting with client-side modding. I found that if you mod the itemdb.xml to, say, make cheap fabric -> fine fabric, the form accepts it and you can click start. At this point however, I must assume that the server decides you don't actually have fine fabric and it just hangs.
So, would it be possible thru packet editing to make the server think you actually used fine fabric? or any other production material you chose? Tho I suspect if it was possible, we'd all be r1 blacksmiths by now.
