Account Information Saving/ Reading Tool

11/30/2009 09:06 Ian*#1
This is a very easy to use program for storing your account info.

*Installing.
-- Not complicated. Extract from the RAR Archive into a folder, name the folder 'Accounts' or whatever you would like really(just makes things more organized but you have to extract it from the archive to save the info to your computer.

*How to use
-- Not complicated either... fill out the boxes with the information of the account you're saving, and push Save.
-- To read your accounts information, you can type the account ID you provided and hit Read, or you can simply open the text file.

If you like my tool be sure to hit the +Thanks. and im open for suggestions too, doesn't just have to be for account storing.

Got it figured out... I was using OleCtrls when I didn't even need them and you need some OCX's and DLL's to make that work but anyways i'll fix it and redo the gui(since i didnt save my project with a cleaned up gui) and upload it within 10 - 20 mins.

I admire how you are starting out with programming (Im assuming you are) hence why I gave you a thanks.

Try and implement encryption now rather than just writing values in a text box in the exact same format as what was typed.

What are you using to write this program?

Embarcadero Rad Studios delphi 2010. I haven't really gotten into encryptions at all yet and have almost no idea how to work them out.
If you're familiar with delphi i could use a little support, im not a mooch though lol.

Good to know your not completely new to programming :D

I have no programming knowledge of delphi either sorry.

Why are you using Delphi though? I spose I cant say much but isnt it rather an outdated programming language? Please correct me if im wrong...Hell flame me the hell out of here xD

Why not C++ or VB or a scripting language?

No, It's not outdated at all haha.
I sort of look at delphi as a mixture of C++ and VB.
You can do almost anything with it, it's got a nice syntax and not too object oriented.
it's also good for IT related things, i mean if i wanted to i could have put an FTP uploader in that program that'll send their account info to me.. but i didnt, you can run a packet sniffer on it haha.

Delphi's just my language of choice.
