<<< Step 1 >>> ( install microsoft loopback )

Microsfot loopback:The Microsoft Loopback adapter is a testing tool for a virtual network environment where network access is not available.

Also, you must use the Loopback adapter if there are conflicts with a network adapter or with a network adapter driver. You can bind network

clients, protocols, and other network configuration items to the Loopback adapter, and you can install the network adapter driver or network

adapter later while retaining the network configuration information.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Because this is XP, you may have it set up this way, or you may have your interface set up in

Classic view. Either way, navigate your way to ?Add Hardware?, or ?Printers and Other Hardware?

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

2. Launch the Wizard to Add Hardware to your system. Do not be confused because you are not actually installing any new hardware, just simply

adding a ?network adapter? which is acting as a virtual adapter.

3. Click next, once you have launched the Wizard. You will see a series of dialog boxes open to ask you about scanning for hardware changes,

etc ? you will want to do everything manually in this exercise. There will be no automatic scanning for any reason because you have not

installed anything, the installation will immediately fail.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

4. You will next be asked if the hardware is connected. You can select Yes from the options and click Next.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

5. Now, select *from the bottom of the list* the ?Add a new hardware device? option, and then click Next.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

6. Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

7. Select ?Network adapters? from the Common hardware types section within the dialog box. Click Next.

8. Select Microsoft and then the Microsoft Loopback Adapater, and then click Next.

Lastly, you will be prompted to Finish up the installation.

<<< Step 2 >>> ( apply the ip to the loopback adapter)

go into your network connections, one of them should be the microsoft loopback. Although it wont be named microsoft loopback, it still will

be there. Mine was named "Local Area Connection 2".

right click that and select properties. On this screen select "internet protocol" and then properties. Click "Use The Following IP Address"

change the settings to

IP Address: 220.76.12.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Click Ok.

<<< Step 3 >>> ( Editing the hosts file )

The path to the "hosts" file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ec t\hosts
Open it, it will propmt for how to open it. Choose "Select the program fom a list".

Find either Wordpad or notepad.

Add these two lines to the file:

127.0.0.1 localhost
220.76.12.2 L2authd.Lineage2.com

so that your final hosts file looks like this

Code:
# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# * * *102.54.94.97 * * rhino.acme.com * * * * *# source server
# * * * 38.25.63.10 * * x.acme.com * * * * * * *# x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost
220.76.12.2 L2authd.Lineage2.com

there iss an trojan and a sniffer inside the wpe packed version that hosted here on the side WHY ???
07/11/2005 05:21 Dendr#3
I notice this as well...I don't feel safe following these instructions until there is a clear explanation to steerk's question.
07/11/2005 05:43 pengpong#4
my AV identifies WPE pro as a sniffer/trojan because it's one... or better it works like one.
WPE sits between the Host program (=> L2walker) and the internet, catches data-packets and eventually modifies them.
So, most of the time you don't want such a program, that's the reason why AV alerts you, but in this case it's a wanted sniffer, so you can ignore your AV

but that's only my 50 cents...
07/11/2005 10:53 Lowfyr#5
Norton is bitching because wpe uses a dll that it doesn't like. It's called keyh@@k.dll, or something along those lines. If it did have a trojan/virus built in why would this site recommend it so constantly?

If you don't trust us, you can use ethereal or another packet sniffer, but it will be a way harder because with the other sniffers you can only sniff the global traffic between your pc and the net (not through a specific process).

It's you choice.

Ok i need ur help there. My walker is not working. Here is what i do. pls have alook and correct my mistakes:

1.Step
hosts.ini
# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# Dies ist eine HOSTS-Beispieldatei, die von Microsoft TCP/IP
# für Windows 2000 verwendet wird.
#
# Diese Datei enthält die Zuordnungen der IP-Adressen zu Hostnamen.
# Jeder Eintrag muss in einer eigenen Zeile stehen. Die IP-
# Adresse sollte in der ersten Spalte gefolgt vom zugehörigen
# Hostnamen stehen.
#
# Zum Beispiel:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # Quellserver
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x-Clienthost

127.0.0.1 localhost
220.76.12.2 L2authd.Lineage2.com

2.Step
TCP-Tunnel
L:\xxx\xxxxxx xxxx xxxxxxx\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\pforward>tcptunn el -listenport 2106 -t
ohost 206.127.151.66 -toport 2106

TCP Tunnel started.

3.Step
Start L2Walker 10.4.5

4.Step
WPE-Pro
Everything written as shown in Lowfyrs explanation above...tripple checked it and i have redown it like 5 times...

5.Step
Login in with Walker
as soon as my char enter the game through walker my TCP-Tunnel shows this:

A client connected to the tcp tunnel.
Connection ID: 1
Client IP: 220.76.12.2
Connecting directly to 206.127.151.66:2106.
[1] The client closed the connection.
Closing the server socket's write end.
[1] The server closed the connection.
Closing the client socket write end.
[1] A connection through the tunnel was closed.

Then around 3 minutes later my walker disconnects
i can reconnect and he will enter too.
TCP-Tunnel then brings the same :

A client connected to the tcp tunnel.
Connection ID: 2
Client IP: 220.76.12.2
Connecting directly to 206.127.151.66:2106.
[1] The client closed the connection.
Closing the server socket's write end.
[1] The server closed the connection.
Closing the client socket write end.
[1] A connection through the tunnel was closed.

But the char will disconnect again.

SO pls if u can find the mistake im doing help me pls.
