request monster.dat updates

allright i am not good at that file editing (i dont get it i am nooblar i know) but wouldent it be posible to make the waterlord bigger to and in the adventure zone behind metzone theres some bosses to that drop uni armors and bigger those would be nifty to ;)

p.s ( if some one should make this pease use the one allready edited for small guards ;)

wtf are you rembling about? i was asking for sensible updates to an premade file i dont get how to edit. I am simply surplying new ideas, and who am i surposed to report what to? :eek: :eek: :eek:

Quite simple to hex edit, I think I'll make a tutorial.. many people have no idea how to do it and it's sooo simple..
Here, you want to edit WaterLord's size, right?
If you still have the monster.ini you'll see the fields, one is the size (zoomexp).. now, if you open the monster.dat in a hexeditor, you'll search for the string WaterLord.. once you find it, you'll see the values inside the next bytes, are exactly the same as the ini. For example, the WaterLord.. his zoomexp is 100, it's the 4th field (always the 4th) after his name.
IE:
default is
5761 7465 724C 6F72 6401 0000 0064 0000 0060
That translates into
WaterLord....d...
the "d..." part is the space for the size variable, zoomexp
if you want to make him bigger, for example, 200 instead of 100 (default), you need to change it..

replace with
5761 7465 724C 6F72 6401 0000 00C8 0000 0060

That should make it. Of course I used a hexeditor to do this, but if you don't have much skills on it, you can just search for those strings and replace the 64 for C8..
used an unsigned short for that..
If you wanna learn some more hex, I suggest using HexWorkshop, it's the one I use and I kinda like it, very simple and the best I've ever found. Have fun~

as i understand it theres bosses of them to but i cant see to find duplicates or other versions of them -.-

you would need to find out the name of the special one..
never heard of it and can't seem to find anything on the ini..
there's many "something Ghost" monsters I've never seen..
so I'm not sure :P

edit1: an idea, make evilghosts/nds smaller.. kinda busy at jail atm, so later on I make it for ya :P

well i tried never saw a boss might be me thats has advanced adventure zone all wrong and there no boss only mobs.

EvilGhost (default size = 90, made it size = 30)
find

replace with

NightDevil (default size = 90, made it = 30)
find
4E69 6768 7444 6576 696C 0100 0000 5A00 0000
replace with
4E69 6768 7444 6576 696C 0100 0000 1E00 0000

I don't know if there's a boss in there, never looked for one either tho xD But you could give it a shot :P

yeah i kinda figured that buggers only hurt me for one with super 120 +4 armor, supershield and super 112 +2 earings (non rb warror) still no sign of a boss. The waterlord works though killed him quite some times still no clear water -.-

to use the monster.dat on co2 is posible copy the edited from co1 to co2 ini folder, the new co2 monster wont work though but metdove and guards should have been edited.

i will upload the new file when i get home. Note that the waterlord we talk about is the one that drops cleanwaters not the one who is surposed to be the dragonball mob.

Wich i questen is even in the game unless its a custom spawn of the waterlord if any one can confirm this mob pls do it.

Its not working with co1 monster.dat and I cant find in it any values of size, zoom, hp etc. When i put co1 monster.dat all mobs have no hp bar and size= 100. Maybe im just stupid or something.
