Nintendo announces a brand new title of Pokémon. The game is called Pokémon Go and brings the virtual monsters to us in real life for the very first time. It will be released in 2016 and will be available in the App Store and the Google Play Store. Although it is free to play, there are in-app-purchases. The manager and founder of Niantic Inc., John Hanke, describes the partnership with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company as follows: “Our partnership with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo is a very important step for games with connectivity to the reality and also for technology that brings players closer together”.
The concept of the game is fairly easy and brings joy to us as fans and supporters. Your smartphone is detecting Pokémon in your proximity and you have to catch them then. As in the previous games, your location plays an important part, as some special Pokémon occurring solely in special cities and woods. There are events in big cities, where you can catch particular Pokémon, as well.

Even if the player is not watching the game on a smartphone’s screen, a small device (gadget) called Pokémon GO Plus is still keeping the player in-game. The gadget is connected to the smartphone by Bluetooth and keeps the player updated by LED and vibration signs, for example a Pokémon being close to the player. Minor events can be performed by a button being pressed on the device (e.g. catching a Pokémon).
Pokémon GO Plus is manufactured and made by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
