GM DETECT - does it really work?

I've heard people say it doesn't detect GM's in shadow mode or something, and that a guy's friend got banned this way...

So GM detect only detects "live" GM's and not "observing" ones? If you have an answer, please provide your reasoning/proof as well =)

it detects all gm's no matter what .mesh(VISIBLE.MESH, GHOST.MESH and OBSERVER.MESH i think it called) they using that come into your radius. since the script edits the function which all player name's that come into your radius load through.

EDIT: though you say someone got banned this way, well no version of gm hack that's been released is guaranteed to get you out of there without being seen by the gm. and there's many reasons they could have gotten caught, the script takes to long, the person didn't act properly, a normal player might have just ss'd them.

Well, i know one thing, if they have ur nickname ur banned (lost 2 accounts in less then 4 hours! COME ON! dumbass GM's) , would it be possible to change the [GM] tag with something else? like a guild name, or a character nickname?
(the wierd thing is that i used the teleport script, i DC'ed and i was banned)

what you mean if they have your nickname banned? D:


but you can change it to detect any player name you want.

If they have seen u hacking, they will use it to teleport u to them when ever u'll log in.
(i think they arent looking for players in tomb, but they'r looking for oread couse i've found oread's on all server)

So GM detect is pretty much useless cuz GM still sees ur name? -.-

well, u can use it doubt that it could do anything bad if a GM catches u

My level 86 mage got banned cus I killed off some monsters and pk'd her lowbies.. No lies.. Soon as I pk'd the lowbies the GM appeared right in front of them as if they were in follow mode following her.. I questioned the whole scene and then crashed loaded back and was banned.. All I can say is [GM]Siena is most certainly a rotten apple..

I hadn't been running GM Detect but if you're planning on vaccing in Requies on Siz.. Becareful.. That spots already being vacced by a GM :P
